This is the first time MLB games have been put on hold since the 2001 season, when the season was paused for over a week after the September 11 attacks. It will be the first season since 1995 in which fewer than 162 games are played.

Cuomo wants doctors to be drafted from all over the US to go work on the outbreak in NY. Says he doesn't know how there will be enough medical workers without it.

Cuomo can suck wind. Those doctors are needed in the communities where they are ALREADY dealing with this.

C'mon, we the little people in flyover country matter not & are insignificant compared to the important & cultured peoples of NY, we should all gladly lay down our lives so they can live instead.

Let him deal with his own problems. What makes him think the other states don't have similar problems?

Idiot.

It sold out in hours in HNL. Never would have imagined just how much Spam is sold in the Hawaiian Islands until we went to Costco. And that included 3 islands! Saw same in OGG and LIH.

That would be Honolulu, Oahu, Kahului, Maui, and Lihue, Kauai for those not familiar with the IATA codes.

NYC is all but a lost cause.. So many 'stack n pack's there, the population-density is the 'causal', Not the 'lack of Med-staff' / ventilators, etc.. Send more Docs / Nurses / EMS there? They'll just get sick / worn out and the City will - still - get over-run by this..

..This pandemic is showing-up the horrible shortcomings of a Number of fallacies, from 'JIT' delivery, to 'Cities are Better models of Community' (than Rural areas / farms, etc, etc..) and Cuomo / past Dem-puppets "leadership". By the time this is over, Manhattan will probably need to be renamed 'Skull Island'...

..been thinking, too: With the population of NYC (~8.6M) fairly close to that of Wuhan (~11M) and pop. density not terribly disparate.. Thinking that the 'end result' of those who die - directly - as a result of CoVID-19 in NYC, might give us a 'better-ish' idea of the true numbers of dead in Wuhan.. (since we All know the 'CCP numbers' are total guano...

Sure, there's a Plethora of 'differentials' - physiology differences / level/quality of Care / effectiveness (or lack, thereof) of 'mitigation strategies', etc, etc.. But with somewhat-parate pop. densities.. IF, say, there ends up being 5K dead in NYC? Then that very-likely could suggest a 'corollary' that - at least in Wuhan - the numbers are total BS..

It appears to me that the US med industry has learned NOTHING from Jan/Feb. Info that was well known to this board from the backchannel msg/info from chicomland. The do, however, love/parrot whatever CCP propaganda/drivel has been published.

I have been thinking exactly those two points.

Just wanted to define JIT delivery for everyone - it's "just in time" and had been touted as the pinnacle of efficiency so money need not be spent on storing goods. Most stuff is delivered in quantity sufficient to satisfy demand in "normal" times, but fails miserably, as we have seen, when people hoard.

Cuomo can suck an egg... in the midst of all that's going on with the Coronavirus he just HAD to sneak through a ban of flavored tobacco products (vapor / e-cig products) attached to the budget bill..

I know that many people have their own opinion on vapor products, but any way you look at it they're 95%+ less harmful than smoking and as if there isn't enough unemployment right now, he's killing an entire industry in the state...

The guy needs to go
