About 210,000 per year

Should good doctors be punished for the actions (or inactions) of bad doctors? Should all doctors be banned?
There are not 250,000 deaths from medical malpractice but from medical errors. There is a difference..

The general question here is: “Would a reasonable person have made the same prescription or diagnosis?” If the answer is yes, then it is likely just medical error and not malpractice. Malpractice happens when a doctor should have known of an adverse side effect, prescribed a medicine that another doctor would not have, or failed to properly diagnose an illness. Negligence or intentional misconduct applies to malpractice.

There are estimates that the number of medical errors are closer to double that number.

Furthermore, errors that result in death are perpetrated by all healthcare professions, and not just physicians.

Incorrect. Nationalized, single payer, or universal healthcare (code for socialized medicine) actually results in an increase in morbidity and mortality.

If you believe that tax supported, government run healthcare to be superior, then the Veterans Administration and military healthcare facilities should have a near perfect record.

If you believe that a national health care system to be superior, then Canada, for instance, wouldn't have a dramatic shortage of health care providers and government bureaucrats deciding whom is worthy and not worthy of receiving healthcare (The very literal definition of "Death Panels").

If you believe that a national health care system to be superior, then there wouldn't be anywhere near the amount of waste or fraud in the Medicare and Medicaid systems.
