Wishing you the best. From what I've read? treat it like you have walking pneumonia. Rest and rest some more.

But I did also take precautions. I wore a mask in the stores. Social distancing.... and I have a bottle of sanitizer in my truck cup holder. I don’t wear a hazmat suit but I didn’t go out naked either. Lol
Since this is the first time you have mentioned these precautions and you have posted how you were not limiting your visits out into the public, it is hard to know what to make of this. After all, some would feel embarrassed if they had told everyone this was no big deal and then ended up being one of the first here on the SB to get it.

Based upon the timing you have stated, you were definitely infectious during your journey. How many people you got near were old? How many people you got near have comorbidities? You may well be in the 80% of people who don't progress to serious illness but some of them may not be so lucky.

I wonder if any of them will die.

Wednesday I really started getting sick. Saturday morning I tested Positive
When did you decide to get tested? Why did it take so long?

You will know in the next week or so whether you will need medical intervention/support/treatment.

I hope you get well.

Very tired but hard to rest because fever wakes you up.
Honestly it’s like the flu. I know people hate to hear it

I haven’t left the house since I was told I was positive on Saturday. Oldest daughter drops groceries on my front porch and the we talk on the phone while she sits in my yard.
I haven’t had fever since 6pm yesterday.... I believe I am on the downside now
Keep up with low dose aspirin even after your fever is gone. My sister is a NP and covers several facilities. Two of her coworkers who were positive and at home with moderate symptoms developed pulmonary embolisms. There's a coagulation issue that's causing emboli, strokes and cardiac deaths ...the heart is actually rupturing in some cases due to valves closing off. There's a clinical trial ongoing for low dose aspirin for CCP Virus positives. I wouldn't wait for the results!!! ...it just makes good sense.

i believe I have said in other posts how I wore a mask in stores....washed my hands and practiced safe distancing...but no I didnít limit my trips.

I m sure I was. I wasnít near anyone in my travel ...you heard of this thing called...Pay at Pump? All the new stations do it.
I wonder if any of them will die.
Who?

Saturday..that was my scheduled appointment

You will know in the next week or so whether you will need medical intervention/support/treatment. Nope. My symptoms are already decreasing.

I hope you get well.
My symptoms were exactly what I thought they would be like. More like flu symptoms
Fever being the worse of it all. Fever has been gone now for 24 hours.

Get a pulseox if you don't have one.

And get some erythromycin or something similar. You don't want to let a secondary bacterial infection set into your lungs.

And if your doc will let you get an O2 concentrator. I would get that too just in case.

And a chest X-ray to see what the condition of your lungs is.

Get lots of rest. Be careful laying down. If you are starving for O2, stand or sit back up.

And I would allow the fever to continue. No aspirin. 102 deg is nothing.

Sounds like you had a very mild case and are on the mend. Best of luck.

Two of the case studies I read involving sudden death in otherwise healthy people (one 41, one 30s) occurred when they were on the mend. One's heart ruptured due to the coagulation issue causing a valve to stick.

And I hope you learned by catching it while you were taking precautions including wearing a mask that it's Much! more contagious than the flu. Since I stopped getting the flu shot around 10 years ago, I've only gotten the flu once because my sister and BIL stayed with me a couple of nights and he was coming down with it and didn't know it. Otherwise, I haven't caught it even when it has run rampant through the long-term care facilities I work in because I'm scrupulous about washing my hands and not touching my face without using a tissue during flu season ...no masks during those times. This bug in no way compares to the flu except that it has similar symptoms for some people.

I hope you recover completely soon, and I also hope you don't use your experience to spread disinformation by comparing it to the flu.

Indeed your experience is not the same as the experience of those of us that have stayed home during the lockdown - you got it and we didn't.

If you had Stayed Home then you would not now be COVID-19 positive.

GW, maybe you caught it off your groceries. I know people are assuming how you caught it but who really knows??

As to testing in NY, in upstate they have been testing at grocery stores and most any clinic now.

Hope you are better soon.

Thanks for posting your experience.

Unless, of course, you can catch it from eating salad where the picker of the veg had Covid-19. Or an apple. Or you have to go to the grocery because you...um...need food?

Yes, I think he went out more than I would have but it is what it is, yes? Folks who work in grocery stores (say) go out all the time.

You have to jump through hoops - it is quite limited. I've checked, wanting to know before I needed it. You have to call NY state Health department, have the 'right' symptoms.

I hope you are really on the mend and have no complications! There really may be something to the blood clotting thing. I actually read about that in the news the other day. If I were you I would keep taking the aspirin for another week or two, just to be safe.

My family is still clear, but we have taken every precaution possible. My wife is a nurse at a urologist office. That is our only weakness. She was exposed to a positive patient but no signs of worry yet and she was not asked to quarantine (Happened last week).

My best friend was told 2 weeks ago they didn't want to test him but quarantine for 14 days. "You probably have it" was what his doctor said. Worst flu or sickness he has every had was how he described it. He is mid 30's.

How many have been tested and certified with Covid19?
Given that this is a forum for survivalists who should be the masters of not catching a pandemic disease... it should really be 0.

I don't buy or eat salads or apples. I sit patiently while I grow my own so I know who's been picking them. I don't go to grocery stores either. When I get supplies they are dropped off in a building with a UVC light that disinfects the surrounding air, then I go in and hose them with disinfectant. Then I wear PPE while I open the boxes and decontaminate what's inside with either more spray disinfectant or ozone treatment.

My mother was tested. They gave her the run-around for 3 days. Everyone telling her to go somewhere else to get the order for the test, and then everyone telling her to go somewhere else for the test itself. We had plenty of tests, but no one wanted to test.

I saw that on CNN. Chris Cuomo seemed really good at it.
