Default scamming of the michiganders.

Recently in michigan the politicians passed some legislation to reduce car insurance costs. This is suppose to reduce costs for michigan citizens. Michigan has the highest car insurance in the nation. I'm all for reducing costs but I believe it's a con job.

The repubs made a deal with the governor and got their insurance bill passed. Now the payback is to raise gas tax 46 cents a gallon. Michigan will have the highest gas prices in the nation. The citizens will have saved nothing. It was simply a money shuffle.

The politicians will never be happy until they have it all.

I don't see, in the article, where a gas tax increase is attached to the insurance bill and the republicans have already stated they will not vote on such a bill. Republicans already screwed us with a gas tax increase a few years ago almost immediately after voters went to the November polls and voted it down by a huge margin.

The republicans in Michigan are about as bad as they come. Last election they wouldn't fight against props 2 or 3, in fact some of them were pushing for them. They keep pushing the democrap's agenda but why? Do they want to be liked by them? Are they just stupid? It's absolutely maddening.

The article states the earliest we'll see a decrease in insurance premiums is thirteen months from now. After this fades from everyone's memory the premiums will likely be the same. I'm sure they have the reasoning figured out already.

Now you have my optimistic viewpoint.

It doesn't say that the gas tax is tied to the insurance bill. However whitmire said that she "fixed" care insurance with the help of the repub then she said now on to fixing the roads. It may not be in that particular article. I connected the dots. The repubs said they are against the gas tax. Never believe what a politician says. They will wring their hands and say it had to be done.

I was watching a lehtos law video on youtube, a michigan attorney.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=j1Psp95O--w&t=40s

How michigan repealed its bad faith consumer protection law. So if your insurance company refuses to pay your claim you can sue. But you only get what you would have if they paid, no attorney fee so that comes out of the judgement. Apparently this happens to many black motorists but it could happen to anyone. The insurance regulators are toothless in michigan.

I heard Whitmer on the radio while on my way to work talking about the gas tax and insurance law. It's like connect-the-dots for a 1 year old. I'd start a thread titled "Stupid Michigan Republicans" and ask for examples but I don't want to overload the SB server.

Gas in west Michigan has been hovering between $2.30 and $2.60 per gallon. No increase here yet.

no real increase at the tip of the mitt either. I have not really heard much about the insurance reform, good or bad.

I such little faith in politicians that if they can some how get the forty cent plus gas tax through, they will. It is a wet dream for them and a cash cow to skim.

In my state, we elected a Rep legislature and Governor because they promised no more sales tax increases. Then they eliminated the inheritance tax, which only applied to estates over $6 million and the tax on investment income. To cover the hole in the budget they raised the gas tax.
Political party doesn't matter. The money goes from the taxpayer, to the politicians, to the people who paid bribe money to the politicians, unless you're a billionaire real estate developer who doesn't pay taxes.
