Mods, not sure if this is the right place for this, if so, please place appropriately.

I was going through my Grandfather's fishing gear, and found some real old-school fishing tackle. I think the prize is this old red and white wooden lure from Wood Manufacturing Co out of El Dorado Arkansas. Still in the box, not sure if it has been used or not.

Anyone have any ideas where to look? And for the inevitable guy that says try google, Wood Manufacturing Co. isn't coming up. Tried that one.

Any help is appreciated.

I sure there is someone that collects old lures, especially ones with the box. I think there was/is price guide book for old fishing stuff.

I'm not sure if this lure is worth anything, but being it still has the box with it, I wanted to do a little research before I put it in the shadowbox I'm making for Granddad's fishing stuff.

I have 4 tackle boxes of fishing gear from relatives that are gone . It's all just cheap stuff with no collectors value. I can't even use any of it because they banned treble hooks and barbed hooks for fishing were I live. I keep them for survival use to snag what my Gill net doesn't catch.

Snip off the extra hooks, and squeeze the barbs closed, or file/grind them off.

Or simply remove the trebles and put legal hooks on, itís much cheaper than buying new lures, even if you use very good hooks.

The value is in the family ties on that lure, see them all the time as they made a ton of them. Wood Man. was a big producer and you can find a lot of their lures on E-Bay.

Now if you had 1 of these:

Just curious about it, mostly since I couldn't really find anything in an internet search. I would rather put it into the shadowbox anyway, there are some really cool old panfishing flies and bamboo cane hand fishing rigs in there.

Looks exactly like the one I pulled out of my Dads tackle box. It’s made by South Bend and the name of the lure is a Bass-Orino.

Is there a name for the lure on the box? Not sure if the correct lure is in the box.
Wood manufacturing company lures usually around$40-65. But you could have a odball.

Unless they had 2 companies making them in the same town (Buddy used to live there so I remember it)

Another buddy had a BUNCH of those lures NIW.
he sold most of them $5-$15
A couple nearly $50

Ended up selling the rest as a batch for $2-$3\per.

Not much help, but you said "any"

The high dollar ones were funny and\or racist. (Black kid ****ing etc)
