Probably not a huge deal in the grand scheme of things, but the USFWS numbers showed a slight decrease in duck numbers overall. The total duck population estimate was 38.9 0.7 million birds, 6% lower than the 2018 estimate of 41.2 0.7 million and 10% higher than the long-term average. Blue-winged teal, Mallards, Green-winged teal, and Wigeon all showed increases.

Is it possible that their flight patters are changing considering the magnetic poles are moving fairly quickly? It affects fish, so should affect birds too. I've read the have special cells in their eyes that allow them to actually see magnetic fields... how true this is, I don't know.

Apparently the ducks and geese here on my local lake didnt get the memo they are supposed to migrate seasonally! The numbers have exploded given all the chicks we had this year.
