If you are planning on heading to WalMart the day after thanksgiving AKA Black Friday you might want to take a few extras steps in getting prepared for what normally would be just another trip to the store.

1.arrive atleast 2-4 hours before store opens or dont plan on getting any of the best deals advertised...check with the die hard black friday radicals who have been camping out for 2 days in front of store for updates on whats available at that partiucular store..as they have been harrasing the management for news since there arrival.

2.bring lawn chair, snacks and beverages and make sure to dress according to your local weather forecast...for some reason most of america is blistering cold windy and rainy every black friday

3. if you can have atleast 1 person who is not actually in line but can take care of logistics like : packing your chairs and ect into car once store opens , quick getaway one you have made your purchases and act as armed security in the case of attempted theft, rioting and the typical all out anarchy that usually takes place.

4. do not make friends with anyone that is behind you in line..only talk to people in front of you...after waiting in line 4 hours in the cold you dont want to feel guilty about getting the last $100 cross bow that the nice old lady in line behind you was planning on buying for her terminally ill grandson.

5. After finding exactly what you wanted..or not... make sure and walk through the whole store..walmart likes to put some of the best sales items throughout the store in different departments.....a friend of mine who got there an hour after opening found a 50 inch plasma in the dairy section ..but they didnt have any left in electronics after the first 20 minutes.

6. stay out of all arguments over the "line" ..doesnt really matter as long as you are somewhere near the front...and blullying or pushing your way through is always an option anyway

7. Dont have all of your family and friends go to same store .. if you can have 2 or more stores covered you can pretty much get what you want as long as everyone communicates...you will see entire families of 5 looking defeated and crushed as they didnt get that playstaion game system on sale...meanwhile at the walmart 10 miles down the road they have 20 of them on the shelves for sale

8.Go home after shopping..do not go out to eat and pay back all the money you saved on crappy half ass seafood from red lobster or a big flash froozen steak from outback...hit the grocery store and have a bqq or just order a pizza....the chain restaurants suck and never have any black friday deals !

Be Safe ! and Happy Hollidays !!!

Truth. Camping out for days with the possibility of being crushed to death trying to save $50 is idiotic.

DITTO! That is the silliest thing that retailers have come up with. The even sillier thing are the people that actually go out to those 'sales'!!!!!!!

Fortunately, we have a football game on black friday, so I have a good excuse not to go shopping this year. Of all the rotten luck . . .

This is timing. A Lady I work with was just trying to go over her itinerary for "Black Friday" with me. As if I care. She is ****ed off now.

I always go to watch and grocery shop. It can get really amusing, and if you want the best show, head to the toy area and watch the moms fight over everything.

So..... WHICH survival items are gonna be super-cheap enough to be worth waiting for hours (more) in line? I mean, if there was a nice gasoline chainsaw for $60 bucks, I'd be on that. Perhaps a generator for $150? That'd be great. Let everybody else go to electronics and toys. I want some PREPS! What do they got coming in for cheap?

I did the Walmart Black Friday thing ONCE a few years back...fist fights in the lot before the doors opened, a literal stampede to the electronics section once the doors did open, and mayhem from then on...I walked out while I was still in one piece. Never again.

There are some killer deals, on BF.
A few years back there was a special BF laptop, marked down from $500 to $300. Turns out that if you didn't want the Windoze OS, you can have it deleted and get a full REFUND. A few folks got the RETAIL price ($90) refunded, after the hard drive was wiped by authorized personnel. The net price was $210.
They installed Linux and were happy campers, fir shir.

If anyone is into deals, you can look up the best deals on slickdeals.net Why shop one day a year, when you can shop all year round?

I am staying home- I don't want to be jostled or forced to use hand to hand combat (that I don't even know), lol.

wear a video camera in case you are,

beat up for your place in line,

cut by broken glass because you were forced through the side window in the rush,

crushed to death because your too slow,

shot and robbed in the parking lot after you have made your purchase.

Post on here after you get out of the ER.

I work for the fire department and every year we have to do a detail at the local Walmart to ensure that occupancy for the store isn't exceeded and to keep the aisles clear. I get to watch the pandemonium first hand.

Seriously it was said up above and I'll repeat it again... STAY HOME!

It is a mad house filled with idiots frantically buying up cheap junk. Last year I witnessed a man sprinting full speed through a crowd with a jumbo pack of toilet paper over his head at 4am... Who in their right mind stands in line for 8 hours in the cold and rain and buys toilet paper? People fighting over cheap odd ball brand name Chinese TV's. The electronics are from unheard of companies and the good brand names are limited to just a couple per store. Trust me, I watch them set it up every year.

It's not worth it to get a "Dinghotsu" 32 inch TV or a "Ping-pang-pong" Laptop for $100 dollars off retail. Stay home and digest that turkey dinner and spend some time with the family.

But if you do happen to give it a try... don't ask the guy in the fire dept. uniform where the TV's are because he doesn't know and he thinks your an idiot for being there at 4am.

Hike the price then discount it for Black Friday...

Amazon "UK", why you so obvious? Not that is matters after last night's Question Time where various members of government highlighted you as a bunch of tax dodging b*******.

Im 19 ,married, have a 10 month old, 2 cars ( one needs fixed and the other costs $500 a month to drive including insurance) and we both work full time jobs, with no assistance from anyone. So is there any Black Friday deals that will pay my rent or give me a raise lol. Im surprised that anyone can buy anything with this economy. Maybe if I quit my job and got gov't Obama-sistance socialist welfare then I could afford something lol. Guess Im just gonna miss the overwhelming crowds to spend the day with my family.
