Default Guidelines for the Wilderness survival, hiking and camping section

Advertise Here

In the past couple of days I have moved around a dozen threads out of this section.

Lets get a few things straight:

Hiking and camping does not include "Bugging Out" or "backpack survival."

Firearms, unless its self defense against a bear attack or wild animal attack.

AK-47s and AR-15s are not recommended for stopping a bear, so please do not post anything about those firearms here.

Hiking, camping and wilderness survival means just that - hiking, camping and wilderness survival.

I am getting tired of moving threads. If this keeps up, when I move a thread, an infraction will be given out.

It's great to get out and see the world for what it is. Inside just isn't fun. As for animal defense, bear spray works better than a gun.

No offense, kev, but when someone plans to bug out to the woods, hiking and camping is exactly what that entails. And maybe the reason you have to keep moving threads is because you're the only one who doesn't understand that.

I realize you don't think bugging out to the woods is feasible for a family. Maybe it's not. But not all of us have a family. Some of us are lonewolfs, and we think we can pull it off. And whether you think we can or not, that's still our plan and that's what we want to discuss.

You keep moving our threads to the urban section, of all places. We're sure as hell not talking about bugging out to the city. So why would you move these threads to there?

Lets be blunt and to the point - why do I move the threads and set the rules for the hiking and camping section? Because this is my site and my rules.

If you dont like it, here is the exit -----> http://www.google.com/

Any more silly questions?

So you're some guy who made a website. Big freakin deal. Anyone with an internet connection can make a website. That doesn't make you an expert on anything. It just makes you some schmuck who thinks he's an expert.

Go ahead and ban me now. I don't care. This place is just a haven for nutjobs anyways...

sounds like your missing the whole point altogether, imo, kev was leanning more towards going to the woods,be it alone or with family,to just enjoy the wonderment in a childs face to be with mom/dad,or just take alone time to unwind from a pressure cooker called" work week",(i dont drink)the serenity/peace alone untangles the tightest muscule.so, what to do should you have an accident/or charged by a bear, snake bite, and not have the ability to move to a safe area to get help?this is why i came to this thread,to maybe learn from those of you who know.i understand bug out,but what about just nature walks?,i can survive the city, but when you go to the woods you exit mans world and enter wild lifes world, which i know little of. just my 2 cents

Jesus, Kev seems very upset about this whole thing. I'm afraid to post anything in any section now. I don't want to be kicked off the forum for an honest misunderstanding.

Well I think bug out and camping/survival are totally opposite than each other. I agree the section should be about what the headlines states. Maybe start a prepardness group with bug out bags.

Good point.

However, the topic could be confusing.

When I read "...Wilderness survival, hiking and camping..." on SURVIVALISTBoards.com,
I read "Wilderness survival, suvrival hiking and survival camping".

I don't see this as it saying 'Wilderness survival, recreational hiking and recreational camping" and I
don't see this as "Surivalist & Recreational Boards". Everything I address here is from that perspective.
Of course, there are sites where people can go for that sort of stuff (Backpacking, Ultralight Backpacking,
etc...). But here, I just naturally think of one thing when I personally ask about gear and stuff and that's
on how it relates to survival.
