In stock at both wallyworld and academy sports. When I buy locally I only go to academy sports but last time I was in wallyworld they had CCI, remington and a few others on the shelf. Seems like every flavor imaginable is in stock everywhere online as well

Midwest. Tons. Everywhere. Almost back down to $20 a box of 555 price point, too. Not quite though.

I still just bulk online order usually.

prices have been creeping down but some odds and ends are still crazy high (like .410 shotgun shells.)
I did find .22 WMR for under $8 a box but I think it is a fluke because most around here is $10+ to $15 for 50.

If you go for rebates, .223 has been a pretty good deal.

I live in the DFW Tx area and I see the 22 at the stores(WM and Academy) but I bought so much in 2008 when it became available I really don't pay much attention to it. I have close to 30,000 rounds on hand and just don't need anymore. But I am glad for the new shooters who bought guns after Sandy Hook but couldn't find a single box of 22 to shoot.

Not that you have to go crazy but now is a good time to start buying a brick or so each payday even if you don't shoot it. Thats what I did and really didn't keep track of what I had bought till one day I sat down and counted it up. Good Lord! I had a lifetime supply. But I have always been like that. I stock up and shortages and panics pass by me without notice.

A word to the wise.

Stores around here seem to have been decently stocked for well over a year. It’s just keeps getting better!

A local gun shop in my town sells a 500 round bulk carton of Remington Thunderbolt 22 LR for $10.00...normal price. They have a lot of it so I've been picking some up whenever I drop in there.

And...one reason I reload for all my centerfire calibers. I don't worry about shortages...haven't for decades.

22 Mag has been the hardest t find. I never go in Wal-Mart or actually very few brick and mortar stores. I buy pretty heavily online. Much better deals to be had online. If I never bought another round I should have enough for the rest of my lifetime, even SHTF hunting.

Plenty in SE Pa. Right now the saying “buy it cheap, stack it deep” really applies to .22.
