I think most of the people are monitoring the U.S. thread where we've been discussing it all evening. There are also some updates in the General Ebola discussion thread.

There press conference in NYC is ongoing right now and a lot of people are watching it.

"Panic spreads through New York as it's revealed Ebola doctor rode the subway, went bowling and took an Uber taxi home before testing positive for deadly virus
Doctors Without Borders physician Dr. Craig Spencer visited a busy Williamsburg bowling alley Wednesday night just hours before becoming ill
The 33-year-old took an Uber car to Brooklyn from his home in Harlem
He has tested positive for the deadly virus, New York City's first diagnosis
Dr Spencer rode the subway - almost certainly the L line - last night"

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...03F-fever.html

Did this guy really need to go bowling?

He took 4 different trains that they've identified so far along with the Uber car, went to two different bowling alleys evidently. Both moonlight as music venues, they aren't clear which thing was going on when he went. He felt ill yesterday but ignored it to go out with his friends.

They need to set up a place at Get-Mo Base for these people to squat for 30 days before entering the mainland.

SARCASTICALLY- Yes, BUT, CNN reports Ebola has been eradicated in *****ia! ()

How can "they" wipe out Ebola in a country that has villages & people who have never seen a doc?

Wiped out in *****ia, a potential wipe-out in NYC.....

But hey, you know who wanted to keep the borders wide open and also, "he" did not want to restrict travel, either by airline into our airports or by ship or inner tube into our ports.....

PS-I previewed this and seen the politically correct server here at our venerated Survivalist Forum is politically correct. It *ed me when I typed in the name of the country in Africa that starts with N, followed by i, then ONE g, (not two!), then an e and an r. Then it allowed me to post the ia part.

We're doomed......

Being a resident of NY I can say with confidence that Ebola will not survive in NY.

The citizens of NY barely survive thanks to the cold winters, oppressive taxes, and a crippling progressive/liberal agenda.

I'm still keeping an eye on the local stories.Thankfully, my local area hospitals have previously setup infectious disease treatment areas. But that is no match for anything major inherently.

Wild .. the current strain of the Ebola virus unfortunately lasts longer on surfaces in cold weather than it does in warm/hot weather.

Sorry that there IS a case in NYC but glad to hear they have at least admitted that case. There are others most likely across the country that are being covered up.

Damn good thing it happened this week. Starting next week NYC is expected to start seeing highs in the 50s. In other words, Ebola's 6 days turns in to more like 6 weeks on surfaces. A month or two from now and we could see ebola infections popping up again months after the last case has been cleared.

Exactly because they don't see docs, don't have hospitals that they can extinguish that so easily.
The thing is pretty-much self-extinguishing if you let the sick for their own devices. So far it looks that even if symptomatic, while the patient is still mobile he is not much infectious, he gets a lot more infectious in a phase, where frankly, he is not able to get a cab or enter in a metro by itself.
If not, the numbers even in Sierra Leone would have skyrocketed by now.

The NYC physician also had relations (he did her) with his girl friend.
