A lot of Smiths won't touch them because they are so tight. Springfield will do it if you send in the slide.

Question for you guys, I own a 5" Tactical and a 4" service, I can take off the slides and install them on the others polymer grip, they match up as if they were the same. I can jack the side, a fire the trigger, however I have not fired a live round with the interchanged slides. Question is will this damage anything, is this ok to do?

Why you ask, would I want to do this. Because my 4" is all black, my 5" is OD green and black, and by switching them I can have a 4" that is black and OD green and a 5" that is all black. I regularly carry the 4" for EDC CC and I like the look of the black and OD green better.

Thanks for the info.

This is kind of a thread drift but.......
I'm wondering if there's any certain ammo that I shouldn't get for the XD?
Or is pretty much anything ok for it?
Here's my XDm 45 next to it's Grandpa the 1911. Love my XDm and it eats anything I put down the pipe brass/steel/handloads, fmj or jhp. Had some issue in the beginning with jhp's but that smoothed itself out after about 150 rounds.

I believe I got them from midwayusa.com. They are made by Promag. They're only 20 rounders though, so they wouldn't aid you much. I got them as spairs for the range.

Again sorry the pic isn't up. The host site seems to have deleted my account.

Just shot my XD45 4" - love it! Easier on the hand than my 1911, and fed everything with no problems.

Still adjusting myself to the long trigger pull (compared to my 3.5 -lb 1911 trigger), but went smoothly.

Next question, what's the best inside-the-pants holster you guys have used?

Do these function as good as the factory mags?

I have been eyeing them for my 40, it would give me an additional 8 rounds.

Yep, they work well for me. I've only taken them to the range a couple of times and haven't had any issues with them. I can't remember the price, but they were cheaper than factory mags and for the price they were just what I needed for the range.

Thanks - would you be willing to post a pic of you wearing it, so we can see what shows and what doesn't?

Don't need your face in it, just trying to see what it would look like with a t-shirt, etc.

Anyone own the XD 9 Sub Compact? A friend of mine has one for sale (400). Is that a good deal? Are these good guns? Can a lazer be put on them or night sights?

Thanks folks.

I just bought a used one for $399.
It looks like its never been fired.
I think it's a good deal myself.
Mine has a little rail under the barrel for a laser or flashlight.

Excellent guns, yes they accept lasers and lights, they also make lasers that go where your recoil spring goes, you can buy night sights and some come with night sights. $400 is an excellent deal especially if there are extras or it has hardly been shot, and an even better deal if it isn't registered to you.

I own one, that is a good deal. I have ham hands, and the 3" is a bit small for me unless I use an extended mag.

I highly recommend the XD platform.

i'll try and snap a shot as soon as possible. keep in mind that the cross breeds are fairly adjustable. mine still isn't fully broken in, but is already very comfortable.
