Glad when I got my seeds to put aside for next year (in case there aren't any next year), I made sure they'd grow/survive at least 2 hardiness zones farther north
Already, this summer has kind of changed into fall earlier than normal here. The dog got "clumpy" starting last week. When I saw that and felt the temperature recently, I figured we were in for an early/hard winter anyway, but this *might* make it worse
At least it's late enough in the season, *maybe* the crops will be OK

Shiveluch Volcano Volcanic Ash Advisory: SHIVELUCH ERUPTION AUG 24TH. to 70000 ft (21300 m) Explosive activity continues. Volcanic Ash Advisory Center (VAAC) Anchorage warned about a volcanic ash plume that rose up to estimated 70000 ft (21300 m) altitude or flight level 700 and is moving at 10 kts in NNE direction.
According to the video probably about 1/100th the size of Tambora at this point. Seems like your average 10 year volcano. Location should mean very little real damage though. We'll have to wait for a lot more information.
From what I understand it initially erupted with less force in June, yesterday it erupted again with more force than a Mt. St Helens which was rated a V5. The above post for yesterday said it was a v5/V6. It is a stratospheric eruption and in the northern hemisphere. Tambora was a V6/V7 although they guessed at that number as they had no way of measuring them in 1815. It won't get much media but will definitely cause problems, and it could continue for some time. Definitely will cause weather problems.
I’ve been waiting for it to hit the news cycle in Alaska. These types of eruptions can shut down air traffic quickly. Haven’t seen any alerts yet. The June eruption caused some disruptions in western Alaska.
During the cool spell, advancing glaciers in mountain valleys in northern Europe destroyed towns. Famous paintings from the period depict people ice-skating on the Thames River in London and canals in the Netherlands, places that were ice-free before and after the Little Ice Age.
So are the scientists going to shift from man-made global warming to man-made global cooling? After all, if something has changed, it has to be caused by the presence of people.

When things start getting colder, the entire man-made global warming community will demand billions of dollars so they can study what people did to cause colder temperatures.
Follow the money. It will give you the answers you seek.
I think that I can understand why there is a conflict of opinion over climate change .
There seem to be parts of the world unaffected by sea level while others are significantly .
The American east coast particularly the water is rising on cities regularly so they really feel it . but the rest of the world to some degree do not feel it.
We know that in the last few years volcanic activity has risen significantly and changes in the sun ,the solar minimum is upon us. additionally there is a migration of the magnetic fields of the planet are being tracked very closely .Earth quakes are on the rise , and ice shelves are collapsing rapidly in the arctic and antarctic .
These are facts not supposition.
Supposition on my part.= due to all these events it appears that an area not mentioned is what is going on deep in the earth either in response or causation .
Magnetic fields changing is going to have a significant effect on the iron in the planet .
not so much as what is molten but the stratus of iron capable of responding.
Any kid that plays with magnets understands this . play with iron filings .
I don't understand all there is to know about gravity except that masses attract the larger the mass the greater the attraction. But I under stand that gravity can be altered . I don't know how but it can. something to do with harmonics and vibrations .
Never the less be it magnetism or gravity the phenomenon of sea level rise is not mans doing . And could it be that this rise in volcanic activity has lifted some iron that has now feeling the effects of magnetic influence, causing change.
Just some thoughts
Just watched a world expert on ocean levels, Dutch I believe. He said that the ocean levels have only risen 1mm in 100 years. What people claim is rising ocean levels is actually wind and storms pushing more water on against coastal areas in some places. I will look for that again if you wish.
Stop arguing about if the Little Ice Age was caused by volcanic eruptions, Solar Cycles, or magnetic field shifts.
The Truth is that Global Warming is real. This has been decreed by the High Priests of the Environment. And to deny it is the most dangerous of heresies.
Just accept the fact and be ready to embrace one-world Marxian Socialism---(cough) (cough), that is---"go green". And be prepared to sacrifice all your modern comforts (air conditioning, your own car, etc.) on the Altar of the Earth Goddess Gaia.
Oh look Ladies and Gentleman, a Shreeker From The High Church of Manmade Global Warming and Taxation. And don't bug me about my spelling. I like Shreeeeeker spelled that way.
Very odd not a one regular news site has this volcano eruption on it. The link is the only reference to it I can find.
You look on Drudge and see stupid stuff like 120 dead pigs in some truck accident in France and some other rather unimportant stuff, yet nothing about this. Are you sure the link is legit?

Obviously that's because Trump has ordered NOAA to lie. But let's try to stay on the Russian volcano topic.
