Based on those numbers, I'm getting 0.00826% mortality.

To make it easier:

8 in 100 would be 8%
8 in 1,000 would be 0.8%
8 in 10,000 would be 0.08%
8 in 100,000 would be 0.008%

I didn't check the original numbers of 8.6 in 100k, just the calculation itself.
