2 years ago my wait was half that long.

Get your weapons with a dealer that has a range so you can at least shoot it during the wait period.

I own 2. The core weapon design is very robust (think AK). Accuracy is surprisingly as good as an AR. Mine are close to inch guns.

The bad part is the furniture, sights, finish all marginal.

To shoot cheaply that distance an AK-74 variant (5.45x39) may warrant consideration.
