New Arab Oil Embargo

In 1973 OPEC decided to Embargo Oil in response to the United States' support of Israel during the 1973 Yom Kippur War. This embargo caused economic hardship in the West, a Stock Market Crash. In addition, it led to the rise of Saudi Arabia as a power player on the world stage.

After the Embargo, Opec raised prices and profited handsomely.

I think it is high time to return the favor. I propose that we enforce an oil embargo on all OPEC countries and prohibit the export of their oil. The Embargo would be indefinite and enforced by the combined power of U.S. and Nato fleets.

Since the economic export of oil requires pipelines and tanker ships, enforcing any embargo would be quite easy. A total embargo of all military equipment would be nice as well, along with the seizure of these countries' assests.

Any price increases can be mitigated by removing all state and federal taxes from Oil products and increasing U.S. Production.

Without the money from the sale of oil, these countries are "Big Nothings", contributing zero to the world's economy. During an Embargo these little dictatorships will be so preoccuppied just trying to stay alive, they will have no money to give to ISIL, Hezbola or U.S. Presidential Libraries.

The World will be a better place.

Even if you DID remove all taxes from oil products, and even if you DID jack the bajeebus out of US oil production, prices would still skyrocket. Do you really believe oil companies wouldn't use it as an excuse to raise prices?

Anything that could be done to "mitigate" the price increases would be about as successful as a squirrel mitigating the speed of a runaway freight train.

I say we full on cut off Saudi Arabia, our alleged "ally." More like terrorist refuge. I'm astounded we keep any kind of working relationship with them. I'd actually prefer we cut off all ties with the whole ME to include our other "ally" Israel. The ME has been unstable for hundreds, thousands of years, yet our politicians think we can fix them by throwing money at them and free them by dropping "love from above."

All this would accomplish is make Russia very rich. They are much closer to the region and already have pipelines in place is some areas. You can't enforce an Embargo on other nation's that simply does not work unless your ready to declare war with any nation not interested in your embargo. You can't win a war with Russia, so it is game over before it starts.

No need for all that nasty fallout.

Buy a lot of tungsten and old Energia heavy rocket boosters from Russia.

Fashion a number of 12 inch by 10 foot rods from the tungsten and ceramic coat them.

Put a GPS guidance fin system on them and boost them into LEO with the old rocket boosters.

Drop one right on Karachi just because it is a cesspool that even Pakistan can't stand any more and is filled with terror cell managers. Karachi will just be a crater after it hits, millions dead in an instant. No fallout at all. No way to stop them with interceptor rockets either because when they hit they are just a ball of heavy metal plasma.

Then tell the world there are more in orbit and to start behaving like adults.

Then we only have to have a long chat with Russia because they still have enough nukes that tungsten rods won't stop them. But when all the other global children stop squabbling the adults can have a meaningful conversation to carve up the map settle our differences.

Then I guess we have to kill all of the Saudis and just take their oil. I was trying to be kind to them, but you have convinced me.

Don't forget the Government manipulated/supported stock market and banking industry!
