Just finished this little guy and I want to add a sling. I added GG&G loops to the build early expecting I'd want to add a sling at the end but I don't know much about slings except for the type I run on my semi-auto carbines.... so... what would you do? Any suggestions?
I think I'd like to find a brown leather one, but I genuinely don't know any brands or manufacturers.... I was even considering trying old WWI or WWII slings if they'll work with the loops.
Again, what do you suggest? Thanks in advance? (also this is mostly a 'fun' gun, so I'm open to suggestions that aren't STRICTLY practical.)
In case you can't see in the photos, the loops are located at the muzzle and where the grip mates to the reciever.... approximately 17" apart.

Thanks!

Attach a round loop to the magazine cap and another at the end of the...."butt stock".
Tie on a length of 3/8" manila rope.
1000 uses, past being a sling.

Put one of those 1 point slings that provide a lot of stability to pistols and short shotguns. You carry your weapon on this sling and when shooting you push against this sling to provide stability for a weapon without a stock.

First, I buy some Federal Low Recoil buck shot to shoot in it.

Second, I'd buy a good comfortable folding stock for it.

Third, I put a big bead on the top of the barrel at the end of it.

As far as a sling, I'd get a quality nylon quick adjustable sling.

But, hey that's just me.

Sling it, hang it, scabbard it... I dont care... I just wanna know what the spread is from 10ft!!

Btw I'd use a scabbard, less stuff in the way when it comes time for business. If you "draw" in the woods or are carrying it I think the sling is gonna get on your nerves. I only use slings if I am gonna be standing drawn for a long time. Its a "pre-drawn" kinda tool for me.

Oh, that's nice too.

I like your style. :thumb:

Old school...but retrofitted with modern.
Thanks! I really appreciate that! My work & prep arms are pretty utilitarian and straight forward, but I like to have fun with my "fun" guns.

If you like this style, wait till next week: I'm finishing a 1955 stevens 311 12 ga. 9" barrels with a birdshead grip! I've never been nervous shooting a firearm before, but that one has me a bit worried hahaha.

I tried to find a scabbard, but they were all a bit too big, (understandably meant for 18" barrels). Do you know of anyone that produces one for 12"?

Btw, I agree with not putting s*** on that gets in the way, however, this is a novelty piece of sorts so I don't mind adding something if it completes the "look"... whatever that is hahaha.
