I got myself a couple of these original Swedish Army folding cups, they only cost me £2.50 for two from ebay and what a great little item to have in your pack.

They fold into themselves and pack nice and small.

I'm going to keep one in my BOB and one in my EDC bag.

Ha! :) those are so cute.

They sell similar ones here, tho i don't think they're sweedish army specifically. My only problem is you can't cook with them. I'd rather find a way to incorporate a cup that can go on a fire into my system if possible just because it multi-tasks then as cup and cookware in a pinch.

Still - those little guys are pretty small and would be nice to have i'm sure.

Stainless steel or a titanium cup both work great.

Add in an alchohol stove, and you're in business.

I saw some the other day at a local surplus store. They even sold little stoves designed for cooking in the cup. I wished I would have gotten a couple. Might have to go back tomorrow :D:

Memories! I had one from my outdoors organization when I was a kid.
Ive got to admit the Swedes make some great kit.

Here is some of my Swedish kit.

Swedish Army gas mask bag.

Mini Trangia cook set.

Swedish Army Kuska.

Swedish Army folding cups.

Traditional Swedish Mora knife.

I also have a Primas stove and a Swedish army sleeping bag in the Attic.

I like these little cups. I used to have one, but I cant find it now. I am going to order a few more. They are great for the BOB or for survival kit. Sure you can't use them over the fire or boil water in them, but they are light weight and take up very little space. And, I am always in need for another cup it seems like.

There are a couple different types of the folding cup. One has a loop just big enough for 1 finger, the other a tab you hold. The loop one will end up tearing after repeated use if your not careful. They also get a little soft when filled with hot coffee or tea so it's a 'nice to know' if you like your drinks scalding hot.

These great cups are also standard issue in the Norwegian Army, where they also are issues one of the best all round knives ever made, the legendary Lapp Lander Knife, made by a famous knifemaker in Norway.

The Lapp Landers use these knives all the time while in the mountains. The handle goes all the way into the sturdy leather sheath, minimizing the risk of the knife falling out.

In Norway (sweden are our neighbour for thoose who doesnt know) its nicked named " leech cup " (not the best translation. Nice to have with you an extra for for my wife/buddies that usually end up forgetting their own cup.

I got 2 Laplander knives. They are quite effective, only thing is that you need to oil them to prevent rust. Its not the best looking knife in the world, but its a work horse.
