So I was contacted by a member here in regards to some used DVDs. This contact claimed he was in the Corps as well and agreed to hook up a fellow Marine with yet an even better deal.
So I send the three digits ($) for all his stock and tell him that he must send them via USPS or the post wont send them. I pay with paypal, as I do with some transactions over the internet. So this guy must have found someone on Marine Online or something with a similar name and straight out asks me my identity and if I am this guy by this name. I tell him Maybe and move on.
Now here's where apparently I was smart, I always have things sent to friends or family from sites like this to keep my identity as safe as possible. I also use a program that bounces my IP address off several other areas/countries. Thanks to a good friend from another site that showed me how to do this.
He comes back and says he needs the country of origin and a phone number. I tell him just to send it to the address given to him.
So here it is a month later and no package.
So I hit him up on here again and ask if he has a tracking number.
He asks for e-mail and now he is asking me why he has three different names for one buyer. So I just tell him that it shouldn't much matter as long as he was paid and I get my product.
So for s*its a giggles, I ask him if he works for an intelligence gathering organization, and immediately he stops messaging me and shoots me a blank e-mail with insurance information for the package. No tracking #.
Is it just me or is this just strange?
