I'll voice it. My Mom was racist. She also was a historian.

She used to say we did not elevate the minorities when we integrated. We dumbed ourselves down.

She believed racial war is coming. :(

If this is true, why should the less educted and lowest economic class be solid liberal voters? Based on this study, shouldnt those with no HS diploma be radical conservatives? What Bovine Excrement! This study is just another attempt at making these numbnuts feel superior. Altho I am not a Rep., there was a study that stated that Reps. had 2 more yrs of formal education than Dems. as a whole. That study was posted on yahoo about 5 yrs ago and after 5 days, you couldnt find it anymore.

Well I dont think there was EVER a movement to elevate minorities. the shut all of that down. That being said most of the problems now a days in minority populations are internal.

Just a quick note... prejudice does not mean racist, racism is a form of prejudice but not all forms of prejudice takes the form of racism.

My adoptive family is a good example of prejudice, they believe that anyone without a college degree is a second class citizen, they are extremely biased and predujiced but are not racist in any form that I have ever seen. They all have at the minimum a bachelors degree but most have a masters or doctorate, they are all well educated people. They are not of the highest IQ's though, my adoptive father Marv runs a 118 and his wife Deb runs a 114. These people have no ability to understand what is around them without an in depth explanation of it, which leads them to fear anything that falls outside of a simple set of rules that can they can easily understand.

I don't have any official position on this article but when I read that article the other day that whole family popped into my mind and I had to give some possible credence to what the man is saying.

I think that prejudice more commonly takes the form of class distinction, political distinction and religious distinction. It also commonly includes bias towards lifestyle, hygeine, social position and financial position.

I just noticed everyone equating prejudice with racism, which is only a very small window of overall prejudice.

I agree completely. I think many racist people are indeed prejeduce against a certain class. It's one thing to hate someone on food stamps that is just being lazy and freeloading. Its another to hate someone no matter how educated or successful they are because of their skin. I do not like racists people and do not care of I offend them.

"Are racists dumb? Do conservatives tend to be less intelligent than liberals?
No reason to read past that. The idiot author has declared his ignorance and bias against people of a certain political belief system.

Isn't he pretty much the same as a racist? Isn't assuming that conservatives are racist any different than assuming that all blacks like watermelon?

Of course I am pretty easy to confuse with my piddling 133 IQ and 126 ASVABS.
