Wow thats a lot of wrecks in such a short amount of time. I started out laughing at the people just sliding everywhere but then got kinda concerned about all the people in the road with cars sliding right towards them. Some of those Hit were pretty hard like the white Lincoln that hit the red Toyota truck and then the one that hit the snow plow. Thanks for the vid though. I can see this vid hitting the news somewhere.

Just reinforces my opinion that I'm in far more danger from the other drivers I'm sharing the road with than the weather itself. When I lived in northern IL and the weather would get bad the doc I worked with was always amazed, because I lived about 30 miles away, that I didn't want to leave early. I always figured I would wait until everyone else got home and THEN go when I had the roads pretty much to myself. I've got no problem going slow and taking my time.

Ok, I see laughing at the idiots that are sliding around, but what about putting the camera down and seeing if any of those people are hurt. Some of those accidents might not have looked bad, but the impact still could do some damage. I have been caught off guard like that before and i pulled my car over knocked on a strangers door and asked if I could wait it out inside. The people were really nice, and let me in, I still am friends with them today. It's still a running joke about me driving in a white out my first winter in Wisconsin, but I have since learned better to stay in than go out.

one year we had a real good snow storm lots of snow and ice

my father took me to the mall parking lot and had me drive and would occasionally jerk the wheel one way or the other and i would have to practice maintaining control of the car

and that saved my ass when i hot a patch of ice in the mountains driving back to base from home

my car was totaled but drivable and i was able to basically control the crash to minimize damage vs plowing head on into a wall
did 180 and went in backwards into the guard ail on the opposite side
