Housing Vouchers

The City of Dallas is offering rental vouchers for low income, disabled people. I was watching the news just now (6am Thursday) while the doors opened. They are trying to form a single file line, but in any first-come first-serve situation, people can get crazy! Thousands of people have showed up and up to 5 people have been trampled and injured, including one 7 month pregnant lady.

Seeing peoples' reaction to something like this makes me wonder how bad a food/water ration handout would be after a national disaster!

Watching it now on 5, what a mess, there are not enough cops to control that crap. the cops are wearing riot gear and setting up barricades.

They are calling in for more cops cause they expect the crowd to total over 5,000.

This is just a taste of things to come, wait until they start giving out free vaccinations and school supplies.

Thank God and Texas for the Castle Doctrine

Thinking about increasing my basic load, lol

They did the same thing here last year and had about the same results. And even though they broadcast that there were only a couple thousand openings, 10,000 people showed up, and they all got irate when the vouchers ran out.

It's simply ridiculous. It's like some of these people just do whatever they want and completely ignore reason, law, and civility.

There's nothing to wonder about. That kind of behavior has been documented many times in crises around the world. So we once again have history to learn a lesson from...if we will.

Just sort of crazy that this was just for the "chance to apply" for something free...they weren't even guaranteed anything.

Imagine what the general public's response would if they were actually giving something away.

I'm going to redouble my efforts after watching this.

You guys are hilarious!

If they are homeless they are bums and if they don't want to be homeless they are bums. Hahahaha! Thousands of job applications, man, that's "news" too! I didn't know there were "thousands" of jobs available in Dallas, Texas! :D:

What is the difference between these mobs and raiders?

How do you define a raider? Is one not a raider until armed with a weapon?

Maybe you who are antigun/anti weapon will come down off your high horse before it's too late? Most of us are not rambo or have fantasies of being rambo. A firearm is the best tool to defend you and your loved ones lives when the police are minutes away, if existant at all....for some instances, there are other tools in the toolbox. mace, pepper spray, fire extinguisher....

When people ask me why I'm well armed and have body armor, I show them videos like this one. lol Get your high capacity magazines while you can.Why should anyone get free rent for life ? These people are raving animals.

there is no 'maybe'...its a hard fact that as soon as the going gets tough and 911 gives a busy signal the anti-gun crowd is going to be the most staunch supporter of the second amendment.

a friend (along with her kids) were strongly against guns until the hurricanes of 04 with the media-touted threat of looters. after asking to borrow a pistol none of them mentioned their anti-gun views again.

It's odd...

They have housing vouchers for sex offenders released from prison with applications provided to them in nice offices. They have housing vouchers for the perpetually welfare recipients which they can get by scribbling their names.

Recently they struggled to get housing vouchers for permanently disabled veterans in Washington State.
