I think they are watching the news and see the effect they are having. When they start here on the soil of America, i'm sure it will be one of their tatics.
One thing you can say is they are not stupid people

Take the illegals and give them shovels and let them help fight the fires then give them 90 day permits to work in the country.
Actually I was expecting after the (sic)sucess of the DC sniper that terrorists woould take up that tactic. I am told Islamists are terriable shots and thats one reason they have to use IED's.

terrorsit attack

This is a pretty deep subject.

Lets just say for a second that terrorist did start the fire. Now imagine what could happen if several terror cells, positioned around the nation is capable of?

With states like Georgia not having any rain for months, what would happen if several fires broke out there?

Instead of high jacking planes, and destroying a few sky scrapers, this could be the new war of terror - burning entire cities with forest fires.

The fires are going to cost us Billions of dollars. Forget fighting the US Army....all the terrorist have to do is bankrupt us so we can't afford to buy bullets. That is how they beat the Soviets in Afghanistan....they bled them to death economically.

If they did that all over the place, we are going to be so busy fighting fires that we can't do anything else. Sadly, it doesn't take a gun or bomb to be an eco terrorist!

Good economic foundation = strong military
Bad ecominic foundation = weak military

Fire has been effectively used as a weapon of war historically...Sherman and Sheridan both used it effectively to wage "Total War" on the Confederate supply lines. Even if this particular incident was not used as a form of warfare, and merely was the action of a few deranged arsonists, it's still a potential threat, especially given the amount of Drought spanning the lower 48 states.

Although I doubt it is a terrorists doing, I wouldn´t put it past them.

A) It´s been getting increasingly harder to attain a plan large enough to cause damage.
B) It´s easy to cross over from Mexico into the united states.
C) A lighter costs 99cents. ;)

However I honestly believe it´s just an arsonists doing. Very sad, especially since people lost their lives.

Simply stating it originated from multiple( more than one)points, doesn't prove arson, yet.Other reports stated it was set near roadsides.Around here, the biggest culprit to starting roadside fires during dry spells,is....CIGARETTE SMOKERS! Ever pull behind somebody, just before a stop sign or a light, and watch them toss a butt out the window?Look on the ground at intersections. You'll see hundreds of butts. These were still lit when tossed. Smokers for some reason assume tossing lit embers out won't start a blaze.Do you smoke?Do you toss butts? Never? Really? Be honest...
If investigators find spent distress flares,or empty fuel cans,or white phosphorus grenades, then maybe I'll swallow the arsonist thing.

I smoke and I never toss my butts. Roll them, stomp the ember, put the butt in my pocket. I roll the window up on friends who ash out the window, and have even pulled up next to and chastized a flat-lander who flicked a cig out her window on my mountain. She apologized profusely, and I went away feeling like smokey bear.

The really dirty culprit behind forest fires are loggers. No ****. Do a google search for Salvage Cuts to find out about some cases in the past.

However, the story Shawn posted was pretty proven arson, witnesses, arrests, etc...

LOL!!! Fox news is the one pushing this theory. And, that alone should tell you something. Arson? Yes. Al-Qaeda? I'd really have to say no. I wish the main stream media would stop assuming that we'll believe everything they put on the tube.

Just like George Bush is now asking for more money for the war, and suddenly, a new Al-Qaeda video pops up. I suppose that was just a coincidence...
