Turkey wants some of the Greek islands.
No, The Middle East and probably political reasons we civilians don't know of is causing Greece to go on high alert, cause Muslims, also Replying to @jandlms, Greece has had the draft since 1914, but this is not the usual turn 18 go to military draft, this is a mass scale exercise of readiness calling all men under 41.

Well Turkey has definitely increased their surveillance of the Greek Islands. Image shows:

4 baykar TB-2--I've seen up to 6 of these on any given day mostly around the Greek Islands.
1 Baykar Akinci--First time I've seen one of these up.
1 BE-20--Flight path suggest Cartography plane.
1 AT76--Maritime Patrol

Maybe Turkey and Greek relations are a bit strained these days.

No, Russia has always been obsessed by being seen as European... even though they have been most influenced by the Mongols/Huns.

They have many neighbors to beat-up, occupy, imitate.... the riches of Europe have been there for the taking. In fact, it's reflected in their art and in their music. I consider Russian classical music superior to European.

USA, on the other hand, is only 300 years old. It has always needed a 'bad guy' to define itself as the 'good guy'. From fighting against natives, slavery, nazis, you finally found the best bad-guy ever.

The Russians gave you the Cold War, the Space Race, and NATO.

Sometimes, give the enemy a salute too.

Socialist Commies, Radical leftists? I'd rather get the clap, at least that's curable.

Russian art and music...

I sang in the choir in high school and early university.
Getting to do the Russian chorale stuff was always awesome. That stuff has a feeling of power and a sense of...foreboding at least, sometimes straight up impending doom.
There is no other music as powerful.

Another favorite was what were called "***** spirituals". Another music with great feeling in it, except in this case done by a bunch of pasty white kids from the upper Midwest. :p
