bigdogmom We love the Silver Surf Motel in Yachats. Dog friendly, fantastic views, short walk to the beach and all of the rooms have kitchens. It is a 1950's motel, so don't expect 5 star accommodations, but very family friendly with a pool, horseshoe pits, volleyball, a firepit on the property and a beach firepit. We love this place.

WornoutDanners Inn at Cape Kiwanda at Pacific City, Oregon, if you don't mind driving to Oregon coast.

My family like to go there for storm watch in the fall/winter. Not as touristy at Lincoln city or Cannon Beach. Excellent food and drinks at Pelican Brew and Pub across the street. You can drive your 4wd onto the beach and watch the dory boats and surfers.

HandLoad Anywhere along the Long Beach Peninsula, WA. IS a Tourist Destination until August, but during Off-Season, You could Hike Miles without Meeting a Dozen Folks. Some GREAT restaurants scattered over Miles of varying littoral Scenery.

We have a Condo in Kauai, for over Twenty Years...Otherworldly, for Mainlanders...

Yeah, for "Maximum Otherworldly", We go to Thailand...

lol, i considered it just part of the local spectacle. it did however put me off Asian women for a number of years, could never really quite be sure they were women after the time i spent there, kinda figured it's best to avoid them as a whole instead of taking the risk. lol

beaches are nice though, lol

America's Patriot What beach are you looking for and what is your dollar range? Hell, we have 6000sqft gulf view homes here if you have deep enough pocketbooks. You said "ocean" so I can assume you're talking west coast... but.
