Good! He's right where he should be, in jail.

He was high and drinking at the time of the accident and; had been charged with driving under the influence the previous month.

The transport company's HR and-or management personnel should also bear some accountability and responsibility for this accident. They are the ones that allowed him to continue to drive for them after he had multiple traffic violations.

BTW, that transport company's history rate for their vehicles that fail safety test and inspections is 20.8%.

Of all the states I've lived in, only Rhode Island exceeded Massachusetts in the incompetency of its' Department of Motor Vehicles. Jobs at the Registry were a perk for politicians to hand out to the least intelligent of their family and/or cronies. Getting a registration processed involved such long waits that insurance agents employed "runners" who were paid to stand in line for the clients. No-one ever expected to get an insurance binder and the title/registration documents in the same day.

First state outside Mass that I moved to was Indiana. DMV offices in Indiana are franchised - privately owned and operated. They competed for the business. If the South Bend office didn't please its' clients, it was only a short drive to the one in Elkhart. They were quick, efficient, and you could even buy a pair of fuzzy dice for your new hot-rod. Or a plastic Jesus, or rhinestoned license plated frames. Hey, it was the '70s! I liked to one in Elkhart better. Prettier girls.

I'm seeing this more and more. I almost got taken out by one of these just the other day that was 3 feet into my lane on a blind turn.

Just another reason that side by sides and the like should not be allowed on paved roads.
They handle like crap with their off road tires and in my area most people who drive them on the roads seem to be drunk.
Itís like they think drinking and operating one on the main roads isnít actually DUI.

Those things arenít meant for pavement no matter how much their dense owners claim otherwise.

Likely the bike was heavier than I was and hit the ground first. I landed on my head and right shoulder. It actually cracked the helmet hence the "luckily I was wearing one that day." Stupid kid on a bike too fast type thing but I was smart enough to learn from it. I had a couple friends that got really messed up from bike accidents and two died. So I learned a lot thankfully.

I quit riding when I was about 56 yos. With the nerve damage in my legs, I could not also know if I could trust my legs to support me, plus it was really becoming dangerous to ride around here. But I was wearing a helmet all the time by then and usually leathers and such. I always wore boots and gloves. I used to cringe at the guys that were riding in T-shirts, shorts and running shoes. I sold the bike I had at the time and my wife sold hers- both 1100cc cruisers. She has since bought another one but doesn't ride it all that much.
Wow! Almost the same as my young life. Started out on a 90, then a 175, then the Kawasaki 500 triple. Did a wheelie through an intersection, got pulled over and my story about inexperience and it getting away from me saved me from a ticket. The thing would not turn. Maxed out at about 105 mph, was passed by some guy on a BMW while I had the Kawi pinned.

I missed the dirt so much I took the 500 to the gravel pits and promptly laid it down. Sold it and bought a Husqvarna 450. $1200 new out the door.

I was riding the Husky one night (no lights) down a dirt mountain road and hit a rock that I didn't see. Crashed, helmet hit another rock and put a nice dent in it (the helmet). Would have been my skull. I always wore my helmet.

I crashed my Yamaha XS-500 when a woman made a left turn in front of me. I landed in the road as a truck was headed in my direction. I rolled off onto the shoulder and was not hurt. I really liked that bike.

The latest articles say the truck driver crossed over into the bikes lane. Probably info from the witness behind him. Why has not been mentioned yet..

America's Patriot I have a problem with some of the comments. I'm giving the police credit here and will say that if the trailer jack-knifed or there was some incorrect maneuver, they would have seen evidence of this in the road or the damage. Of course, this is just an opinion, but I find it more likely that one group or the other just crossed over the line.


And don't even get me started on the insurance companies... that's a whole new thread in itself. LOL

"In a hurry, busy on his cell phone, and ran a red light" put my husband in a wheelchair, and agonizing pain, for life. Walked away whistling. Still works where we do. Driving a powered industrial truck. I heard them paging him the other day on the overhead.

It seems that justice is well and truly ****ed in cases like this - that the driver always gets off and the victims are left to suffer with a minimal insurance settlement.

The driver (providing evidence supports this) is entirely at fault. Beyond him there are a conga line of others who failed but if this was drug or alcohol inspired, green card guy needs to meet ol sparky.

Israel Putnam Anytime a CDL holder is in a wreck, even their personal vehicle theyíll be tested.
DUI for a CDL holder is .04 no matter what theyíre driving.

I suppose he may have hid his crack arrest from his employer but if his employer knew about it and continued to let him drive that guy is done for financially.

Just in case you didnít read the whole article they claim that CT didnít follow proper notification procedures, if true then Deveney is not entirely at fault.

I won't be surprised if some judge gives him a little slap on the wrist...

we vote these folks into office expecting results

whey they fail to perform, or perform with gross incompetence, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of accountability

the folks who dropped the ball and allowed this guy to continue driving should be strung up...and by that...let me be clear....a rope should be tied around their necks and they should be hung from trees
