atomicsmurf Just for reference in case anybody has the same set up as I do. 981t+Nikon Rimfire II Prostaff + Weaver #12 base mounts + Weaver Steel 1" High Rings works perfect.
Bolt clears the scope.
Had to add a cheek riser pad, but no big deal.

atomicsmurf That is a nifty little trick. Thanks.

Snyper708 Stack some coins on the mounts to see what it takes to get the needed clearance, then measure the stack compared to the ring height.

Marlin 981t Scope Ring Height?

New to scopes. I ended up buying that pawn shop Marlin 981t for $93. I want to scope it. I have a Nikon Rimefire Prostaff II and #12 weaver mounts, but I'm not sure what size rings to get. I'm gonna grab a set of weaver quadlocks, but I'm not sure if medium, high, or extra high will clear the bolt and back bell for removing the bolt for cleaning. I also do not want to remove the rear iron sight.

Any experience with rings on this rifle is appreciated. Even if you suggest a different brand.
