I talked to a couple of the clubs here and they told me that they'll let someone compete with jeans, a button up shirt, and semi-period correct shoes.

I believe in Wild Bunch you can compete with a pump shotgun, 1911, and a lever action of +40 cal.

I say go for it.

Glock19 RTF One of my Dad's friends used to be real big into it. He would travel out to the big SASS shoot in either Arizona or New Mexico annually(not sure which). He loved it spent a tone of money also. From what I've heard it gets addicting fast. He had a lot of really expensive period clothing and holster rigs. He had show rigs and work rigs with guns to match. It honestly sounds more expensive than clays or 3 gun.

If would definitely be fun! The speed and technique that those guys and girls run single action revolvers, double barrel shotguns and lever guns is CRAZY! Definitely a skill worth picking up. If you aren't prepared to get addicted than I wouldn't even allow myself to be tempted!

buckhunter I would love to try this, just another reason to buy more guns, though I do find shooting all my guns fun, but this looks really fun.

*Paladin* I have shot a couple SASS events with a buddies guns, after he bugged me and bugged me to try it out. It was a LOT of fun! I don't see anything wrong with selling excess modern arms to get set up for cowboy action, if you think you'll enjoy it. Too many people forget that guns aren't just for defense. They should be FUN as well!!!

Best home defense is a Butt Kickin Cowgirl

my friend "Cowboy" (he is a retired professional Rodeo Rider, a friend of Willy Nelson,, and the guitar player in my band) is encouraging me to sell some of my guns and get some cowboy guns and join him in Cowboy Action Shooting for ****s and giggles. I think I just may, but not lookin forward to being shown up by girls. On the other hand it does look like pretty good Home Defense practice..
