That is a good group. That ammo is not well know for accuracy but you still nailed it. A bunch of times...

Well done sir!

If so, Id say you did pretty good. VERY nice looking rifle you came out with for under $500.00.

The PSA 20" kit I got was just the complete upper. They sucked me in with the 'machine gun steel / double chrome lined' FN crap.

Only thing I had to replace on my upper was the hand guards. Bolt carrier rails were easy to fix but those hand guards went in the trash.

Notice how in the top set of hand guards the aluminum shields are shaped slightly differently (further away from the plastic in most places) and actually touch the plastic in fewer places? Guards on bottom have noticeably thinner / easier to flex plastic aside of that increase in contact points.

With the guards on top air can pass from the bottom, go around the sides and exit the vent hole in the top with no obstruction.

With the guards on the bottom air is not going far as there is aluminum shielding in the way (separating the top from the bottom). Aluminum touches the plastic pretty much everywhere.

It could use a better trigger. I debated using a Capco or FN Upper:
https://www.armslist.com/classifieds...ttype=7&ships=

https://www.gunbroker.com/All/search...ellers=3181892

And still may do one of those. However the PSA works for now.

Sighted it in at 25 yds on the backyard range but need to take it out to 100yds. Need to find a wooden chair at a garage sale to shoot off. The flexy patio chair, I used, doesn't help consistency...

They are really good carbines. They look a little funny without a suppressor though.

I might not have noticed how crappy everything else was on the 20" PSA kit I bought it I didn't have a few other rifles around to compare to.

Handguards were junk, Bolt carrier rails were rough as a cob, Jacked up anodizing inside the upper where it matters, etc.

When I get around to buying another 20" I will likely just shell out for a complete FN rifle and be done with it.
Mine works just fine but I'm not that picky.

Well if you insert a rod down the barrel, from the muzzle, until it stops at the breech face...

Same here, never owned a 20 incher previously. Used them in the Army Reserves 20 years ago.

I was just checking out Delton's 20 inch kits vs PSA. Delton does have a neat lightweight barrel kit for $500.
https://www.del-ton.com/Rifle-Kit-p/rkt110.htm

Delton Govt Profile Kit $500 (not chrome lined)
https://www.del-ton.com/Rifle-Kit-p/rkt106.htm

But PSA wins the price / performance battle.

PSA Govt Profile Kit $350 (not chrome lined)
https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-...rifle-kit.html

PSA Chrome Lined Kit $500 (chrome lined)
https://palmettostatearmory.com/20-c...rifle-kit.html

I have 2 more removable carry handles that are needing rifles...

From trash to treasure. A disapator story.

I have always wanted a dissy. They were all the rage back in the day but donít have one. I have a Colt LE model that I plundered parts off of, a the old school Armalite clamp on front base sight, a Colt buttstock, 12in rail all laying around collecting dust. Dug through box of parts and had everything. So I rolled back time to the 90s this morning. I actually really like it. Iím going to ditch the MkAR scope for something in a 9 power soon.
