Pretty dang good for an old man. :) You're probably skiing the black diamonds. I tried it once in Flagstaff. The ski patrol pulled me over and told me to go take lessons. For the life of me I couldn't stop or even fall down, skiing on a blue and out of control. I'll stick to my DR650 in the wilderness.

If you're still alive SS, and you so want, I can send you that latest novel about living free up around Tahoe area and very northern Kalifornia in the Redwoods. One character named Nancy reminds me a lot of Mogli below. Whoa! I think she carries a Buck knife.

Yep, you're right, I looked up Mammoth. Sounds nice, except for all the ******** and dumbLibs, and yep, taxes will keep going up. That's funny, I've authored 8 books, novels, and the last on Amazon, called Nefarious Eyes, the hero and others ended up going close to Lake Tahoe to bug out - they bought an old gold mining claim type ghost town. I hear the Snake River is nice. (in Id)

Yep, everything's under control. I imagine Adolf said the same thing.
Had to google Mammoth. WAY up there in Kali ... looks pretty good, close to Or, though you know better than me. Lot of us like minded people in Id though.

SS, I used to think about maybe there was hope, but now I believe we're already destroyed. Maybe you and I both have 20+ years to live (we're close to the same age) I've decided to follow Harry Browne's advice in his book on Freedom in an Unfree World, and live what I've got out to make me the happiest.

Sell that thing! I too am trying to sell one and have lowered the price $15k under what it appraises for...down not far from Col. Springs. I believe the housing market has done a false runup and will tank again, so am just trying to get out from under it...Hope you move to Id soon. That'd be an ideal location. Actually just got mine under contract yesterday and hope it holds up...much will be going into ag if it does. Good luck SS.

    HI SS,

Thank you so much for your helpful message. I appreciate it :) Idaho seems like such a gem. I hope it does not change over time...I also hope that the economy improves, without getting too crowded...Good luck, best of wishes with all of your plans:) Peace.

    Hi SS,

Thanks so much for your detailed message:) Which part of Idaho are you looking at? That is another area I am thinking about. I am just concerned about the lack of an economy in NID, the meth problem (not sure if its a big issue or not) And no high speed internet if you are in a rural area...In any case I really do like Idaho, I also like the trees in NID, the people, the politics, etc.:) So, which area are you thinikling of? Its a huge state, and it all has a different sense of beauty:) Thanks again for your message:) Take care.

    Hi SS :)

Thanks for your posts on this forum, I always enjoy them!:) How do you like living in your area? I am assuming you are close to the Carson City area, Reno, Lake Tahoe? Are the schools really as bad as some people say in the Carson City area? Do you know if the underground bomb testing had any effect on the underground water supply, water table? What is the water quality like in the area? Do you hear of a lot of cancer cases? How safe is the area of Carson City? Are you staying in the area or are you planning on leaving at some point? How long would it take to drive from Carson City to Sacramento in the WINTER time? Is 2 hours 43 minutes accurate during the rest of the year? Thanks so much for your help!:)

Thanks SS! I finished the Cl. De Mar in Keene, NH in 4:11, which was above my goal of a sub-4 hour. The weather was hot and humid, but I was dealing with an IT band issue on my right knee around mile 21. I have never dealt with that before so it was depressing to have it crop up during the last 6 miles. Made for tough going at the finish, needless to say. Been carefully training and resting as I have the Stone Cat marathon, trail race, on the 5th of November. Knee feels okay, so hopefully with a few more weeks to go, it will be a non-issue. Thanks for the kind words and I will get up with you when I start my search for a bike at the turn of the year. Those carbon Trek's are awesome!!!

Thanks for the welcome. I am in Mammoth and my son did the ski PE thing when growing up. I am very impressed with the site and quality of information in the Financial section here. If you are ever over this way give me a shout.

From one Sierra Skier to another. Welcome aboard. BTW. I learned to ski @ Badger Pass in Yosemite all during elementary school. Every Wednesday we'd knock off @ noon and ride a shuttle bus to Badger and ski for 1/2 day for a buck. That was our PE for the week.
