People who say that gardening does not pay are often comparing it to what they would earn in overtime. But, since the doctor told me to join a gym I compare it to what I am NOT paying in gym fees! I just made the garden bigger!

Besides. those horrible/beautiful white cabbage butterflies are out, the birds are singing, and winter will come just too soon!

My garden is a respite as well, and when I mention it to some people they like to tell me what a waste of time it is. That it is silly to grow it when I could just buy fruits/veggies. Funny, it's my favorite place to find peace and others think it is just another chore. :)

I only ate the greens, and not the grain!

The greens taste a bit on the grassy side. It does not taste bad, I thought it tasted like chewing on a stalk of grass, but I would rather eat other greens. I do suppose it would be good with bacon fat and a dash of vinegar.

    Hi Terri,
I saw you planted Jacob's coat amaranth. Have you eaten it yet? Does it require any special processing, like quinoa does? My quinoa experience was a comedic nightmare. I would like to try a different grain though, and thought I would ask you about your experience
    Thanks for your time,
    Have a super day!!!

Thanks for that. I'm a really nice dog but I'll pee on your shoes anyway.

Good grief. no. The only reason I even entered that thread is because of the scary excorcisms they have. I see at least two 'oops we killed her' exorcism gone wrong type tv news articles a year. I think the most recent two were a drowning (tied down on a table) of one girl, and another, a fourteen year old, accidentally beaten to a point where her internals shut down and she died.

I have severe back problems, by the way. Heh. Perhaps I have been a little 'if I can do it you can do it'. Sitting in a car hurts. yes. But so what? What is the alternative? Would it be a good enough excuse for the mother if the girl killed herself? "Oh, she cried out to me but my back hurt that day so she's dead." Great. I cannot tell you how much I loathe a selfish mother. I get so angry! I know I blasted in the first response, but the second one actually said 'i don't actually mean beat, i just mean tell her off'. Perhaps nobody read it. story of my life really... :)

Terri, I said what I said to a woman so morally weak she couldn't be bothered driving to see a daughter who was having a complete personal breakdown because she had a 'sore back'. Do you really think I expected her to actually physically attack her daughter? She can't even be bothered saving her daughter's cat whose abuse she has known about for a long time.

the daughter is having the kind of emotional crisis I would expect from a teenager in puberty. Arrested development and no clarity about moral issues, which clarity would ease so much of her pain! The poor kid has been thrown into a cesspit of other people's inadequacies and excusemaking but to be honest, at 38 it's time she worked some stuff out for herself.

i'm not going back to that thread, but I do not like to be rude and ignore you, so I am reduced to posting here. I like you, and I hope all goes well for you. :) Nice to meet you terri, my name is bridgette.
