I've had a Redhawk and now have a Blackhawk. Redhawk 44 is heavy for all day carry. Blackhawk is much lighter. To me with the recoil, you have time to **** the hammer on the bringing it back to aim. I use shot shells for snakes. I live in the deep south, and snakes are crawling around trying to find a place to den for winter when hunting season starts. Same in the spring, they come out during turkey season. So, having a sidearm is nice. We have copperheaded water rattlers down here. I think that covers all bases.
