anti-materiel work at long distance. Why .50BMG API isn't sufficient I don't know, maybe one of the regional directors is trying to justify a budget increase...

Why don't you support our troops and homeland security?

Because the FBI is a law enforcement agency, not an army. And for the price of one of those, they could buy 60 surplus mausers.

But more than likely, so an administrator can say "our agency's guns are bigger than your agency's guns".

20mm rifles give you the capability of shooting through walls and other obstructions and still hit your target. Do i think the FBI needs it? No. The Army and Marines could definitely use some though. FBI should not be doing blind shooting through walls. In the Military if someone is shooting from you from a house the entire house is the target. A 20mm rifle would work great.

Precisely. It kinda forgets about the whole "protect and serve" idea huh?

Sounds like it is becoming "project and sever."

Why does the name Lon Hariuchi come to mind when I think of how this can be abused by the FBI?

Like the military the FBI has many specialized units. I worked with their Counter Intelligence team in Iraq for about 6 months and i found them very down to earth. I do know that they had other strike teams there as well. If these two guns are for them i have no problem with that. I do not believe that the average field office needs one though.

What job does a POLICE AGENCY need with a 20mm CANNON? They are police, not Military. If they have a job that requires a 20mm Cannon, we have some really big problems.

Holy Hell.

Looks like (from what I can find), that thing is pushing a 100gram (1543 grain) bullet.

Wow...
