Default Mini psk contest!

We are holding a contest for the best mini Personal Survival Kit (PSK). The prize will be a $25 gift certificate to www.EDCdepot.com.

Rules:

1. Your kit must fit the PSK into a container 3.7” by 2.32” by .82". An ordinary altoids tin will do or something like THIS will do.

2. You must post a picture of your kit and a list of its contents.

3. You must be a forum member with 5 or more posts

4. You must be 18 or older.

5. Each kit should cover or try to cover: water purification, signaling, fire, a cutting tool, navigation, shelter, food (or food procurement) and first aid

At the end of November I will pick the top 3 kits and set up a poll for forum members to choose their favorite PSK.

You are welcome to email us the picture of your kit and post the contents on the forum. Inquiries and images of your kit can be sent HERE

Any questions? Good luck!

Here's my entry:

The container came from a throat lozenge container I had laying around.

Everything fits nice and tight inside the case. Although there is some room at the top, I could probably cram something else in there.

On top:
-Some post-it notes for journaling or burning

On Bottom:
-These are the bottle the water purification tablets came in, the pills are actually in the middle plastic bag with the sinew and needle.

From Left to Right:
-Matches wrapped with a rubber band. The cardboard underneath is the strike side of the box since I had no strike-anywhere matches when I put this kit together for my Appalachian trail trip.
-A Tomahawk serrated pocket knife.
-A Sharpened pencil
-Water resistant compass (I've had one to be ruined by water before)
-A whistle and directly underneath the whistle is some dark green wire perfect for a snare I suppose.
-Twist-Ties
-Some sinew, needle and thread, and water purification tablets in the small plastic bag. (Advil or Ibuprofen would fit but I haven't had the time to add it to my kit.)
-Some squares of card-stock with diagrams of traps and shelters on them. I guess they would also be good for burning once the traps became familiar.
-There are also a couple band-aids hidden underneath the card-stock that I forgot about when I was taking the picture.

Ok I would change the container to metal I just used what i had on hand...
12 matchs (water Proof) wrapped around it was 20ft of tape and 20 ft of fishing line
Part of match striker (came with matchs cut it off)
20lb fishin line 50 ft
5 fishing hooks
13 small lead weights
1 multi tool ( Knife saw light screwdriver bottle opener can opener)
1 compas
1 small mirror

I put the hooks in the middle just didnt want to miss place them and step on 1.. I would change the container to metal so I could boil water in it or make char cloth..

I didnt read the frist aid part so I threw in 1 small sowing needle and 2 baindaids most first aid I could do with nothing but what i carry on my back and I usaly carry a full size frist aid anyways so I dont need a small one..
