Default Favorite Brands of Rifles

Anyone care to list their favorite brands of rifles?

I own and shoot a Remington 700, but the Weatherby Vangaurd is far above that Remington. Its kinda like comparing a ford escort to a BMW.

I dont really shoot anything but AR15s much, dont get me wrong I have trigger time behind may guns and own a few long arms that are not AR15s, but they havent seen the range in some time. As far as the AR15 gose I have spec that I require but several companies fall within that spec and I dont really have a favorite as long as they meet the spec.

Really I guess the sam ething can be said about your weatherby Vangaurd, Its actually out sourced and made by Howa who also sells the same rifle under there own name. The howa is a bit cheaper but dealing with them may be more difficult as far as warranty and repair gose so it may be in the best interset to buy it under weatherbys name.

The Rem 700 comes in many forms as well from cheap production to high end custom quality. So while one may not feel that great anouther might be select grade.

I personnaly feel that I need to judge each weapon alone as all companies can put out awsome weapons and lemons.

I like American, wait I like imports to, Ill just take one of everything please.:D

Turnbolts, for those really long-distance encounters-Mauser actions, please;
Trunk/junk rifles (the one's that ride in the back of every rig or the bottom of every boat I own-SMLE Ishapore 2A's, cut to carbine length, thank you;
For those special "social" occasions- Saiga Avtomat,7.62x51 NATO (oh my!); and, for those stragglers who may end up on my doorstep for extended an extended post-TEOTWAKI stay, and are in need of hardware to lend a hand in the fray-Simonovs (SKS, to you folks in Rio Linda) and Mosin Nagants...oddly enough, all my hunting rifles are Marlin leverguns, and all are chambered for wildcats...Why, you may ask? Because I'm one of those tinkering persnickity build-it-yourself SOB's who insists on wringing every ounce of performance possible...besides, I handload evrything I shoot (a GREAT BIG hats-off to the guys & gals at Dillon Precision!)

I really dont have a favorite brand of rifle. My favorite brand of firearme overall is Ruger.

My .22 is a Ruger, AK is Romanian one Norinco SKS and one Yugo SKS. Looking to get Remmington 700 or Mossberg 100 ATR and 2 more Yugos sometime this year.

Our camp feels the same. Just found a few preban in excellent/safequeen cond. with all USGI partsfor the most part. 17 USGI mags between the two rifles to boot. Decided to put up one norincoM14 on the chopping block along with some excess spare parts. I like the norinco M14, but it would cost me more to build it the way I want it...vs the deal we all found on these two M1A's.

This one is mine.

With that being said, my daughter really likes her Fulton Armory M14

My only long arms right now are a Marlin Model 60, and a Weatherby Vanguard SMOA. Otherwise it's mostly pistols and shotguns for me. I do however intend on picking up the ACR when it comes out. It will be my first AR style rifle.

Marlins. My 30/30 would be the first one I'd grab.

I've always like Winchesters lever or bolt actions, although the Ruger bolt and semis are very nice as well.
CZ do some nice bolt-actions as well.
