Once when I was staying temporarily in Los Angeles and was broke, I went dumpster diving. Cashed all the cans in and sold some good stuff at yard sales that I found in dumpsters. Volunteered to weed out a flower garden in front of a restaurant in return for a couple of meals. Sold my blood and plasma at a local blood bank. Did work at Kelly Girl and a substitute motel maid. You just start thinking outside the box when necessary.
