Default Spray painting an ALICE pack

Advertise Here

I've got a large ALICE pack that comes in that semi-shiny OD green nylon. I've picked up 4 cans of Krylon ultra flat camo spray paint (forest green, od green, brown, and khaki) that I want to use to dull it down and camo it.

Anyone know of any sites that offer tips and tricks on how to paint this thing?

Personally I would rather dye a material like that rather than paint it. Do you have something else you can use the paint for?

Check out http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=6&f=10&t=277218 for more info on painting and dyeing. If you spend some time going through the posts there you'll find a lot of good info.

I have some Molle FLC Vests I'm going to dye up after that link you posted.

Here's how he did it:

In a 5 gallon bucket mix:

3 gallons of HOT water
1/2 cup Dark Green liquid Rite Dye (1/2 of 8 fl oz. bottle)
1 cup of Salt
1 pint of 70% isopropyl alcohol

This would probably work very well for an ALICE pack....
