Default Remington 7600 Patrol Rifle

After the new assault weapon ban passes and the high capacity firearms and magazines become too expensive, I believe Remington 7600 Patrol Rifle would seem to be a good rifle, 308 caliber of course. Assuming it does not get banned.
What do ya'll thing?

Thanks for the link . This might be a benifit to those that live in states where it is illegal to deer hunt with anything that is semi automatic.
Maybe they will come out with a 308 version that uses M14 mags?:D

As far as a new assault weapons ban goes...............I dont have a clue, but it might be a good idea to prepare now instead of later while high cap mags are affordable. I'd say that the same would apply to ammo, since it went from 150-200 a case to 500 and up nowadays. Thanks to 411man's heads up, we purchased a little more than normal while the buying was good.

Which reminds me.......... if 411man is a memeber here, I'd like to thank him via pm.

We'd have both have one if they took M14 mags

Yup. I'm very fond of the M14 platform. Rock solid reliable, and accurate to boot from my expierience.

What do you think that ole REM would charge us for such a beast?

I'm sure it's a quality gun, since its a Remington. I would still rather have a semi auto, but this is being made for when Hillary bans them. (damn it!)

i own a 7600 carbine, its a late 80's version without the high comb , great rifle. the question i have is why "308 of course"? mine is a 30-06, i dont see the advantage of the 308 over the 30-06...but i am willing to learn.
