Default Food Storage Secrets DVD set ?

I saw a link "Be Prepared for the coming food shortage" on the Internetgrocer website. It talks about a 2 DVD set of "Food Storage Secrets" and was wondering if anyone has tried them. If so are they worth the price?

I would just buy the stuff to do the two methods of canning and buy a food saver. The pressure cooker has recipes to can, it's cheap (after initial investment which is still less than 100 bucks) I would be willing to bet that the info on that DVD can be found on this site for free.

I agree with Brutalsun - all the "secrets" to food storage are available here and a few other sites on the net, for free. Put the money that the dvds would cost into more preps.

And take the time to THANK the people that teach you this stuff for FREE versus charging you an arm and a leg for a good BS marketing scam like that one.

Appreciation goes a long way. A lot of folks share what has cost them time, money, blood and sweat over decades for FREE.

Get the book "Putting Food By". It will answer all your questions on food storage. It covers canning, freezing, smoking, etc. Cost is about $11 from Amazon and well worth the cost.

roncar, if you decide to give this DVD set a shot be sure to give us a review of it, if it has helped you and if its worth the time and money.

I know searching through the millions of threads here is a real PITA at times but I'd bet that you could find the same information freely posted on this site.
Thanks

Thanks for the link

My spider sense didn't let me comfortably take a blind chance on this when I first heard about it. Now I see I didn't miss anything and rather saved myself a huge disappointment. Another lesson in buyer beware.

The article also mentions mysolarbackup.com which I have seen before. I too was wondering how difficult it would be to assemble my own battery bank with a cheap solar panel to feed it. Still its very low on my priority list right now.

Yeah, that Solutions from Science site is another big tie-in to all their different overpriced products. They use a LOT of fearmongering to try and boost sales, which to me is a hallmark of a company that's there to con you out of your hard-earned money. Not to mention their stuff is super expensive and usually only slightly better than what you can put together yourself at a fraction of the cost, not to mention usually not as great as they claim. If that solar back up is the same as the one I saw them pimping, they were basically making it out that you could power your house with that get up and live comfortable...ha! It was one panel and a luggable tote with a couple batteries, charge controller, and inverter in it. I'm pretty sure that won't meet the demands of pretty much any house by a long shot.

Considering the thread is nearly 2 years old, he's probably already bought or given up on the idea.
