Don't think you will find them any more. C rats started phasing out in Nam with the intro of LERP rats. K rats were WWII. I may be wrong on the C's but have not seen any in some time. We did get them for a while back in the 80's for emergency services.

The K Ration was replaced by the MRE a long time ago. You can buy them at Army Surplus dealers.

Check Ebay...or better yet check an army surplus store. Mind the date and the storage instructions tho. Last I saw of Crats was back in the early 80s. Everything is pretty much MREs now. And there are 2 types, regular and CW (cold weather). Hope this helps.

I bought 4 cases from an ebay seller at a decent price for the a and b meal mre. Some ebay auctions get really expensive but you can hunt some deals down too...just make sure the inspection dates are decent and try to find out how they were stored.

As a military man, I'm going to issue you a warning. MREs have no dietary fiber. I once made a bet that I could live off of them for 2 weeks. After the first two days I had to start using laxatives and fiber supplements to get things moving out. It was bad.

That's a warning.

why dont they have fiber? they don't want you wasting time to use the bushes- or the brass just wants you to be stiff and anal retentive as they are?

You have certainly nailed that one! Even the "yards" in the northern highlands of Vietnam hated them. From time to time I would give them some C rats and they knew the words "ham and lima beans" written on the box. They would make their kids eat them, probably under the threat of bodily harm. And these people ate rats and frequented the garbage dump outside firebase Stud.

I sold mine on Ebay 10 years ago with the understanding that they are not edible. Got a high price for them. There are people that collect military rations for reasons that I cannot fathom.

Check with Major Surplus in Gardena Ca.

They have a website.

Your wrong soilder, the MRE has plenty of fiber, your expected to eat the cardboard that enclose the pouches!! You can't be leaveing things behind so that an enemy force can track you!! How do you get toliet paper thats 85% post consumer "content" it had to come from somewhere!!
