Best bet is www.gunbroker.com. There is a article in the articles section about buying a gun online on gunbroker or www.auctionarms.com. You usually find an unfired one for $300 there, that being a Russian or a paratrooper. The M's and others are more expensive anymore.

if you find a nice russian or a para for 300 even used take it nice russians are going for 375 to 475 and paras are 350 to 400 these prices are for used in good to very good condtion if you buy one though go to tapco for all of your aftermarket parts, and try to stay away from the yugo sks's.

As for the SKS D or M, what's good about those is they accept AK mags. What's bad about them is most are selling them for $400+.

oh yeah i just seen a very decent all matching #'s russian in a shop for 380.00 and its worth it check out www.yooperjs.com www.surplusrifle.com or www.siminov.net for some great sks info . i just got rid of my paratrooper it was not a norinco it had threaded barrel milled reciever and trigger group it never jamed even with a crappy metal detachable 30 rnd mag it was a GREAT rifle. and it had a chromed lined barrel common on the type 56 sks's
