Who is to blame for this nations current situation?
If you google or research financial crisis you will find out that most of the pundits blame the Democrats for this mess our nation is in. Most of the serious damage was done to Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac by Bill Clinton. Clinton was the guy who tampered the most with the rules that governed both financial groups. Couple that with things like some of the Democrats, Chris Dodd for one, getting paybacks from AIG and so on it then becomes REAL EASY to understand EXACTLY who hurt our nation again.

If you voted for president bush 8 or 4 years ago - I blame you. Blame anybody you like but CONGRESS, more specifically the DEMOCRAT Congress, controls the purse strings of the nation. Bush pretty much has been a impotent little leader with an I.Q. slightly above room temperature settings. Blaming Bush shows a lack of understanding of how our government really runs.

If you voted for your current elected official - I blame you. And what if the current elected official is one doing the right things? Using kind of a broad brush there, aren't we?

If you voted third party, against your current elected official or against george bush 8 and 4 years ago - you are not to blame. Now this "thought" is interesting. You are in favor of a wasted vote??? Good one!! How about the idea that in some areas 3rd parties may not even be listed? How do you blame those people, rocket scientist?

Put the blame where is should lie - at the feet of the people that elected these bozos. I hope you are proud of yourself. Okay, Mr. Perfect. I blame you for NOT running for election. If you're so perfect, how come you aren't in elected office instead of the bozos? YOU are the one who denied the rest of us your "perfection." Okay, where's that rope? The tar and feathers?

The fact is that if it were just the Feddie and Frannie mess, we would be darn lucky. What got us so so DEEPLY into this mess is the unregulated fiinancial instruments like derivatives. And the ridculous loans. Freddie and Frannie didn't have anything to do with the 2 million dollar condo loans in south Florida. Or the ridiculous loans for overpriced housing in California. And on and on. No regulations. And you can blame republicans for that - especially Phil Gramm. You know him? McCain's financial advisor? The "no regulations" are best folks?

And Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Chump Schumer, the blame spreads far and wide in this.

Uhh banks do not have anything to do with the $2mil loan on the Florida condo ?? Who do you think hire the appraisers to appraise the condo?? Who do you think loaned the money to their developer condo builder buddy?? I can tell you of personal instances where they were giving out loans to their buddies who were highly leveraged on rental buildings, but would not give loan to new customers who had a good down payment because they did not have "management" credentials. I wonder when the commercial loans start going bad on shopping malls, that they loaned out money to their buddies. I wonder how bad it will get.

To what do I blame the current economic mess?? It would be the employment of the good old boys system. In this case rich business men that would be able to get the loans . The average American has a very little blame . The ones that bought McMansions were rich business men. The ones that bought the shopping malls were rich business men. I think a very small percentage of people qualify to buy a million $$ or so home or condo. I think this segment of loans is going to take a huge drain on things.

Example you have 10 loans at homes under 200 k, maybe one defaults, so the bank has only 200k of bad debt on books.

You have 10 loans at a million plus, 2 default , the bank has $2mill. plus of bad debt on the books.

So I do place it sqaurely on the Fed reserve, they give out the currency to the banks, the banks good old boy network decide who got loans , and richer greedy business men .. The average American is just the one that has to clean up the SH*T!!!!!

Yep, lets blame Bush. I blame him most for declaring war on terrorists that previously had killed Americans at whim. Blame Bush for forcing the banks to make house loans to people working at McDonalds for $7.00 a hour. Blame Bush for Katrina, Ike and 911 that cost millions of dollars. Blame Bush for for alot of things but do it fairly.
Put the blame on the American people that keeps re-electing the same greedy SOBs in Congress over and over.

I blame Bush for not screaming at the top of his lungs that this was taking place. We pay/elect presidents to manage things not to look the way.

At the very least he quietly allowed everything you listed to happened.

Exclamation Bankers screwed us.

It's all tied to greedy bankers...giving loans to people who can't afford a tent, let alone a huge house. So when this legal ponzi scheme falls apart & CitiCorp,AIG & Bank of America are on the verge of failing,Uncle Sugar steps in to provide funding with no provisions for repayment.Cost to the taxpayer.?About $700 billion...but not to worry, they'll take the attention of the banking bailout to those evil overpaid UAW members.

There is nothing more wrong today than yesterday. Unless you count how people feel about things. Economies are driven by the feeling of confidence that things are going to get better or the fear that things are getting worse.

Interest rates are lower than ever. In 1980 or so I bought a house with 20% down and an interest rate of 13.5%. It was assumed that interest rates would never be in single digits again. I sold that house and got another one with a loan of 7%. Things change.
Hang in there this to shall pass.

Regards

Blame outsourcing.

Plain and simple.

If you do not MAKE anything, you have nothing to export. You become a society based on consumerism at the lowest price.

So really...

Walmart is to blame, and those that shop there.
