Can anybody tell me if the headstamp FNM43-65 is Portugese ammo? That what it was advertised as but I was going to check.
By the way, I heard the NATO cross was a sure sign that surplus ammo is non corrosive. Any truth to that?

FNM Fábrica Nacional de Municiones, Santa Fe, México (near Mexico City) 3

FNM Fábrica Nacional de Munições de Armas Ligeiras, Chelas, Portugal 1

FNM Unknown Factory, Mexico

according to what i posted above its either mexican or portugese. The possiblity of having corrosive ammo is slim I don't think there has been any corrosive 7.62 NATO made since the very early 60's.I think there was some israeli stuff made in the late 60's or early 70's that was.

I would lean towards it being Port.
