I watched the preview..............it looked pretty good. I've got the DVR set to record the series. We'll have to see how it pans out.

I watched it but, I noticed a couple of things that were disheartening. There seems to be a liberal/tree-huger slant to the show.
The negative comment about the hunters as callous and uncaring was a joke!
I'll watch the show if it stays entertaining and/or informative. It does appear to have an entertainment value, so I'll give it a chance.

Yes, I caught that also. Not much on the tube anymore that isn't left leaning.

Watched the show, found it mildly entertaining. I did a little reading on the man, it appears he doesn't live like that 365/year, spends winter in a cabin.

Apparently, he's more into the "Earth Gym" thing than he is survival. He calls himself a "thrillivilist"

Yawn.......Another scripted, so called reality shows.

And, like pthor said, "liberal/tree-hugger slant". (Cody Lundin's estranged father maybe?)

I caught that too in the sneak preview. I was hoping he wasn't a burned out hippie just living in the woods. But it looks like he may be. I don't know....

His friend he barters with does awesome leather work. I would rather watch a show on his craftsmanship and workings. After crumbling up the scat in his hands and just looking at his feet and fingers that jam wasn't looking all that appetizing. Toe jam, jam.

its another fake show. his buckskins are brand new, not even dirty. and the part about his fathers ashes in the tree.....the pacific NW is basically a rain forest. thats why there is moss everywhere.....if he really put a leather/suede bag up a tree, it would degrade and rot away within weeks. the bag was also brand new, just put up there for the show.

im sure the guy is a primitive survivalist in some sense, but everything is exaggerated for the show

To me this is basically just putting the old man from duck dynasty in the woods and telling him its a survival show. Legitimate survival shows are staged enough as is, with the characters putting on for the camera. This Mick Dodge show is a farce.

Apparently all the money he has made so far has been given to his nearby charity.

Best as I can tell, he is like a lot of other vets that found the return to society not as inviting. While the show has some voids, its still a fresh take on the outdoors.

Exactly......I noticed the skin on his face, hands & feet are not that hardened like a person who really lives in the wild 24/7........He is a part timer in the wilderness like I am but he is very experienced....I liked the show...

First thing I noticed were his toenails, trimmed. I got suspicious, but at least he didnt hide the fact that he got Giardia, and apparently he got into a fight with the producers when they tried to give him a script.

So far the guy is OK in my book, if not 100% living in tree stumps and perhaps a little bit crazy.

I read he don't "treat" his water or boil or even filter it.
