I think it's a great idea, but I suspect if this gained any real traction, it would be met with some heavy-handed government response, as Reagan did with the striking air traffic controllers back in the 80's.

That's a great point. It doesn't seem to "grassroots" to me. Either way, I'll support truckers whatever they do.

the truckers also are asking everyone not to do any shopping those 3 days, no commercial transactions at all. I kinda like the idea of sending a message to DC. Realistically don't think enough folks will be on board to be noticed, but I'll do my part. I am not a trucker, but meet many at work. They have been getting hosed bad for a long time.

I am good, have more than enough supplies for 3-days of disruption of transport. I can also see how a major drop in business for 3-days will hurt the US economic numbers.

If enough Americans participate in this strike, we will be able to show the whole country that the American Citizens is still in charge!

You can bet the powers that be are going to demand that their media buddies not run any stories about any strike. It will either be not mentioned at all or be so far down the list as to be invisible.

I could easily go months without purchasing anything, or leaving my property.

I say good for them, and we won't even notice it...

That said, here's a great article on the devastating effects of a protracted truck stoppage....

read it and plan accordingly...

This is what i first use on prospective preppers....

I"m old enough to remember trucker actions a number of decades ago.."Smokey and the Bandit CB era"
they would run wide across all lanes and then go very slow if not stop completely..backing up traffic...protesting fuel prices cause I think regular gas had risen to 52 cents/gal here in the south..course diesel was still cheaper than gas back then cause they hadn't screwed it up yet.
next thing ya know, there'll be a run on cb radios (LOL)

I for one hope it's legit and it happens. Trucking is what keeps this country moving, and if it halts it should be a wake up call. I'm glad there are more and more people organizing and doing something about this out of control government.

the problem is truckers have to move freight to get paid. indy drivers dont just turn down jobs for 3 days and hope to get another job after. many of those rigs are leased and no freight means no money for fuel. this movement is like OWS in the fact that have no single cry. one says its for the energy policy(a koch astroturf?) to tyrany and constitutional corruption. they also cant decide what day to do it on. some time in nov or some time in oct.

the reason the bikers had so much traction is because many of those riders didnt rely on their bike to pay the bills and rely on shipping companies to give them the jobs. the last i heard was 880k bikers through washington dc. even the group that put it on has said so. if they do it great. i have no problem with it. they just need to have a cause and be more about the entirety of gov not just obama.

I've been a part of plenty of general strike actions. Not going to happen on a large enough scale. Everyone is just going to say 'I wish I could participate, but if I get fired I can't feed myself or my family.' If you can't get in contact with EVERYONE that you want to strike and make sure they are all on board so that literally no one shows up for work making firing the strikers too hard for the employers... no one wants to be the one guy that doesn't show up and so everyone shows up.

I drove OTR for 20 years and let me tell ya, truckers cant stick together for anything. ive seen about 4-6 times they all talked strike, it never happened. it is also illegal due to national sec issue's and drivers and companys will be fined or jailed. that was the talk last time I herd about about a strike. its a waist of time worrying about a trucker strike

That's a roadblock I keep encountering with people. They aren't willing to risk personal sacrifice for the greater good. Our founding fathers risked their lives for freedom, yet people today will not risk anything. It's disheartening how dispirited the masses are.
