Default Comet ISON

Advertise Here

We've had a little talk here and there on these boards about the comet, but not much attention has been given it.

I think it's worthy of its own thread at the very least

Comet ISON is set to be visible come November of THIS year. (not 2014 like some have suggested) And then it will swing past the sun getting brighter and brighter until it shoots past mars (relatively closely) then past us on its way out again.

I'm not suggesting this comet is Nibiru, or Elenin, Planet X, the second sun, or any of those other theories.

I am suggesting that this comet is worthy of watching, and not just for is Awe factor. It's fairly large at an estimated 3 mile nucleus and 3100 mile coma. It's a sun grazer, and it's close orbit to the sun could easily change things. It could break apart. We don't know what size pieces it would break into, or where they would go. It could also hold together but be flung into a new orbit, one that could put it either closer or further from us and mars...

There are other factors to consider, like what will it's magnetic/electrical impact be on the sun or our planets if any.

There are a lot of unknowns still about this comet, but one thing that is known is that it is indeed on its way. Time will tell. Things in our solar system are already changing for unknown reasons, and I wonder if it's all just coincidental.

Here are just a couple quick links for some more information, but a quick search for "Comet ISON" will yield a plethora of info. Some of which is way out in left field, but some of it is good thought provoking scientific data

Nasa have come out and said that ISON is a whole magnitude less bright than expected at this point and has ZERO spin. This could possibly be due to the comet fracturing.

In around 40 days, ISON will pass over the north pole of Mars. If it fractures, I wonder how the pieces will respond to Mars magnetic field...will the orbit of debris be tugged down? Closer to the eliptical plane?

If you look at the JPL orbital diagram, Earth will pass through the trail left by ISON on January 14th 2014. How big will those meteors be? How big were the meteors from the comet trails of Swift-Tuttle (Perseid shower) in 36AD or the comet Tempel-Tuttle (Leonid) in 902AD?

Because this is ISONs first (and probably only) trip through our solar system, there are a lot of unknowns, and questions that need answered. What is the electrical potential within ISON? How will it react with Mars' electrical field? Why has the sun been popping off flares at ISON when Earth desperately needs them?

I guess I have rambled enough - My eyes are open and I'll continue to watch and ponder :-)

Oh, and in response to your original post... BS. At least for now

Lucifer's Hammer - good book with a similar premise. Unlike asteroids which follow a fairly predictable path, comets vent gases and constantly lose mass and change shape in ways that make projecting trajectories accurately a practical impossibility. As such we simply cannot know how close it will pass. We do know it will come the closest after its swing around the sun and starts its journey back out to the Ort Cloud, but we don't know how close it will come to Earth.

Default ISON has wings

Region 3 - USA is one of the areas that will be aligned with the debris path from ISON. It is important that we begin learning from what direction and in what regions of the world and the USA will be most effected by such ISON debris, because specific areas, like region 3, of the USA are aligned with the ISON path.

I found a YouTube video by an independent astronomer, who seems to know his stuff, did some measurements of comet ISON and concluded that it is roughly the size of NEPTUNE! Has anyone else found any similar info?

Will ISON have any effect on Mercury -next in her sights? I wouldn't have thought so myself; Mars was an oddity in that it was, in astronomical terms, a bit of a close shave (a few million miles is relatively near). The closest approach to Mercury will be on November 19th, and it will be many times farther away than Mars was. And anyway, the jury is still out on whether there was any electrical interaction with Mars for obvious reasons. Just one solitary video that I could find (J7409) that was quickly taken down, and Mc-con-eys Alex Jones-style rants about his integrity and his misquotedness.

This guy thinks there might though, and his reason is that Mercury is a LOT more metallic in it's composition than Mars, or even Earth for that matter. It has a molten iron core that accounts for 75% of its mass. A pretty good conductor. If Mars put on a show last week, imagine what Mercury might do at a similar distance.

Its probably hocus pocus though; too far is too far. This kind of distance is a not-unheard-of distance to comets and nobody made a big song and dance about it before. I like this guy though -I never saw any of his videos before someone sent me this link. He has very high hopes. Me too

We need something up in the skies to shake people out of their boots. Get them looking up from their smartphones for a change, and taking a look around at the world. They have everybody looking down into a screen for a good reason. A big fudging electric dragon in the skies on December 25th (ISON's closest Earth approach). Imagine the reaction.

Default The ISON Debris Tail 17 Jan., 2014

The ISON Debris Tail ? and FEMA 3 Region - Aug 28, 2013
These two videos takes a look at comet ISON, specifically when Earth passes through the debris field of ISON, later in January of 2014. After some observation and trial and error, Mr. Cati and BPEarthwatch were able to learn the geographic areas of the USA that will be aligned with the debris path from ISON which will be following behind it.

Here are the two videos in which Mr. Cati (video 1) and BPEarthwatch (video 2) explain their findings:

It is remarkable that these two people who do not know each other, came to the same findings and conclusions: Region 3 - USA is one of the areas that will be aligned with the debris path from ISON. It is important that we begin learning from what direction and in what regions of the world and the USA will be most effected by such ISON debris, because specific areas, like region 3, of the USA are aligned with the ISON path.

ISON HUBBLE GROUP COVER UP/New Image.

11/01/13 — iSON enters the ecliptic and crosses Earth’s orbital path.
11/12/13 — iSON crosses Venus’ orbit and will likely interfere with Mars’ IMF causing elevated X-ray flux activity on the SUN.
11/15/13 — Mercury orbits between the SUN and iSON. Expect simultaneous electro-magnetic interaction between iSON, Mercury and the SUN.11/23/13 — iSON crosses Mercury’s orbital path.
11/28/13 — iSON slingshots around the SUN.
12/26/13 — iSON makes its closest approach to Earth.
01/17/14 — Earth passes through iSON’s debris field.

When you see a respectable military journal allowing such material to go up your eyebrows should be raised. Something is definitely up here.
