Anyone know where to find a 10/22 take down spar barrel? Prefereably stainless and threaded?

If you find a source I'll take a couple.

Pretty sure there will be a ton of options appearing in the next few months -- don't know of any right now, though.

In case anyone is listening, I would also like to see an aftermarket "survival stock" option with waterproof compartments for extra ammo and other survival-related items built in.

i was wondering about this myself, i was looking to buy a takedown soon but i was wondering about the spare parts availability with this model, i might just get the normal 10/22 and get a butler creek folding stock.

edit: never mind i found a link

http://www.agparms.com/agp-16-ss-take-down-barrel/

threaded though so check your local laws

I think that the barrel you are listing fits the AGP take down 10/22 and not a Ruger Takedown 10/22, however I could be wrong, but check it out.

Last I checked Ruger would not sell the barrel assembly for the takedown, however this has been 3 months ago.
Whats crazy is they list a part number for it, but say its unavalible when you ask to order it. That was my findings 3 months ago.

It will just take some time for the aftermarket to catch up. Looks like they will be a little more complicated to make vs a regular 10-22 barrel.

A regular one is not much more than a chambered blank with that notch milled in one for the block to clamp it in.

It says the AGP Take Down is a complete rifle built on a new Ruger 10/22. I want to have a second barrel with forend that is shortened then threaded. I will then put a suppressor on it and pin it so that it is 16.1 inches thus removing the SBR classification from it. Hopefully it will keep zero with the different barrels.

Edit I do believe you are right. It seems they are modifying a regular 10/22 and not a Takedown.

Yeah instead of buying a newer system with special parts, just pick up a regular 10/22 and a Butler Creek folder and be done wit it. KISS!

I like the Takedown, but already owned a 10/22 so I put the Butler creek folder on it and it works great. The only drawback is the wire frame stock; it was making my cheek rest too low on the stock to aim through the scope. I bought some foam pipe insulator and wrapped around it and that did the trick.

The Takedown was one of the few smart things Ruger has come up with in recent memory. I still keep dreaming for the day they make a Takedown chambered in .44... I won't hold my breath.
