Glock 30/36 hybrid

I did a quick search and didn't find anything on this subject so here it goes. I was wandering around the interweb today and stumbled across the concert of a Glock hybrid. 36 slide on top of a 30sf lower. I have a 36 but the capacity is just sad. From everything I've read online this combo works well and buying a lower is cheaper than buying a whole new gun(which is what I was planning to do before I heard of this). Anyone heard of/tried this? Feedback?

Lower = Frame

You have to go through the same FFL channels as a fully put together firearm.

I'd just find a good/used Glock 30 and do with it as you wish. Should decide to ever sell in the future, you'll have a much easier time selling it as a whole, instead of just a frame

How does this work? The 36 is significantly thinner is it not?

I have the 30 with 10rd capacity could not find anything substantial on the 30/36 hybrid while searching same.

It can be done, but why? It seems a lot of folks are enchanted at some of the interchangeability of Glolck Parts (I used a standard mag release to make my G36 into an extended release).

For the change being discussed, you'd need 2 complete guns. You may as well buy a few extra mags for the 36 & learn how to change them quickly. Besides, if you aren't clear of danger after 6 shots, they probably shot you.

I've got extra mags that I keep with it but higher capacity is always a good thing as far as I'm concerned, even more so when SHTF. I have a g36 and it would be cheaper to do this than buy another gun(I'm poor). And for the change all you need is a complete lower.

I see them running anywhere from $275 to $320 for the frame only.

Figure another $100 some gets you the whole gun!

nice pick up. im on the fence about paying 275$ for it(that is the complete lower) so i think im just going to wait fo a gun show or swap meet and see if i can pick one up. if not ill just get a G21 and be done with it.

I almost bought a G21 when I was on my search for a G30. Found a decent price price on a miss marked 21SF on Gunbroker. It was under $400 IIRC. Shipping and transfer brought it right over the $400 mark.

Held out for the 30. I did snag 6 used G21 mags before buying the 30. Figure get them while the getting is good.

I'm kinda weird like that, if I plan on buying a gun in the next year and a mag deal comes by, I'll stock up before I have the gun.

You might keep an eye on that dealer who I bought the 30 from. I believe he does a decent amount of LE sales.

To the OP: I'd just hang onto the G36 and save up for a G21SF or G21 Gen 4. If you're LEO, military or Fire/EMS, or just a GSSF member, you can buy a G21 at LE pricing ($464 last I checked). This includes 3 magazines, BTW. That's how I bought my G21SF. Tough to beat a brand-new G21 for that.

This was an awesome stuff!! Good to know info and I think a lower is not that good, I'd preferably buy a new stuff off the hook!!
