Hello i was wondering if anyone here has any experience with the Yugo Zastava AK47? They are the same price as the WASR which is the better gun as far as dependably? Thanks

I might have had experience with that gun, however since at the time i did not bother with the nuances of the which model i was using i cannot help much. However i did hear that M70 are considered among better versions of the AK family.

The PAP is just a cheap run of the mill gun, and if its the PAP with the angle cut rear receiver area where the stock goes on, Just buy a WASR. Atleast you will be able to change the stock out on the WASR.
I know i have a WASR and like it alot.

I looked at one briefly at the last gunshow I went to. It certainly "looked" better than a WASR. The furniture didn't look like crap, anyway! I wanted to take a closer look but that table was crowded as hell.

I didn't know it had an angle-cut receiver. That does narrow stock options. Has anyone done a review of any kind on them yet? I know they're fairly new to the market...

EDIT:
Here is a little bit of info on them:

There earlier PAP's had the angle cut receiver, i see the newer M70 PAP doesnt, its pretty straight, so other stocks should fit.
So just check it for canted front sight, canted gas block. Mag fit, and if its ok, it should be alright.

Bought mine a few months back and am very happy. I've owned and shot a few AKs in my time and I think it is one of the best I've ever had. No reservations recommending it... BTW the furniture is a nice grade teak wood

Personally, I would go with the Yugo. It is a lot prettier than a WASR is (which matters to me). As far as function and reliability... they are both AKs. Nothing to worry about on either one.

The Yugo isn't much more than a WASR, and I honestly don't think WASRs are worth what people are asking for them. I have one, and I like it, but it is a $300 gun at best.
