ANNOUNCEMENT-Okay I have been waiting to let this out until things were solidified but I am going to be Making another TV Series with Myke Hawke for the Outdoor Channel with a Youth/Teen Survival Theme. I cannot release all details at this point but wanted to let friends know the new developments. It will be a very short filming season and this will allow me plenty of time for Family, The Pathfinder School, and YT Video Production. Just wanted to give everyone and update that is about all the info I can release at this time. Thank you for your support! Have a great Holiday Weekend!

I'm happy to read this. Hubby and I were big fans of Dual Survival and Man, Woman, Wild, so bringing Dave and Myke together for a show sounds like it's right up our alley.

Cody was all into spiritual enlightenment, and finding a handful of edible leaves was a score for him.

Dave was all about putting meat on the table.

There were plenty times where Cody's strengths and Dave's strengths complimented each other.
From what I understand, Dave has a great respect for Cody's skillset and experiences.
Two different styles for different backgrounds and regions. Apples/Oranges.

I'd be happy to be taught by either.

Dual will be back with a replacement for Dave, Cody will still be in the show. I don't believe they've announced who it will be though.

From what I read, it's supposed to be someone diametrically opposed to Cody's style.
Which is good in my opinion. That's where the show gets interesting. It's awesome to watch
Cody sort things out while Dave used to just "have at it". Cody was reactive. Dave was proactive.

I remember LingMAO when Cody exposed his secret mission to convert Dave into a Bush Hippie.

I've seen these DvC arguments on other boards (it's one of the reasons I don't post on them).
Fact is, Dave was accused of being a fake and it was supposed to have been proven,
but when asked for the evidence, the person couldn't prove anything. Not one lick.
He was mentioned on a site that supposedly exposes people who make false claims
about military service, then post proof that he WAS in the service and that he DID
attend the schools he claimed he did. As for the the other claims he supposedly made,
not one person ever put forth a shred of evidence that he ever made said claims.
Oh, and the person who supposedly made the accusations? "Anonymous". What a surprise.

So, I've learned to not get involved in that soap opera drama. I don't come to Survival
Boards to discredit anyone, to engage in gossip or to contribute to a p-ing contest.

I'm disappointed in the public statement Cody put out.
He knows exactly what he was doing and how this could affect Dave's livelyhood.
Not cool. Not cool at all. There were some rumors about Cody not being all he claimed
to be, but I couldn't care less. Why couldn't there just be a professional parting of the ways?

Nevertheless, it's undeniable that both know a boat load more than me.
I don't care how much Dave did or didn't do while in the military or that
Cody never picked up a weapon and took a post in defense of our country.

Still, where I come from, you just don't do that ship. You don't F with a man's reputation like that.
Especially if you a military-brat that never served. We have a phrase for that and it's called acting
like a little female dog.

Evidently, lying about military service is fairly common practice. I hear anecdotally that employers can't easily get a complete resume from the military, due to regulations, security, sensitivity and bureaucratic reasons. So people embelish their service on a regular basis. Trained sniper, paratrooper, cryptographic expert, survivalist expert, etc. sounds better than cook, supply clerk or truck driver.

DC is a rarity in this world, an original thinker who added something new to the Survivalist/Bushcraft movement. His 'common man' youtube vids are great and its a pity to find his reputation being put through the ringer.

Whether he served or not makes no difference to me. His way of self reliance using cheap easily accessible items is what got me back into bushcraft.

The link is to a blog spot by Tomahawk who is member of BushcraftUSA which details the discrepancies and the original source was BushcraftUSA and the original post on BushcraftUSA has been removed.

The information is a copy and paste of the original post on BushcraftUSA and the information comes from a FOIA of Canterbury's military record initiated by admin of BushcraftUSA of which Canterbury was a member under the name of PATHFINDER.

Basically DC's claims just didn't add up and he got called on it. His resulting arrogance got him a permanent ban on BushcraftUSA. This was DC's doing and no one Else's.

Now whether DC is knowledgeable or not is not the issue it's his integrity. I for one would not want someone as an instructor who's scruples can be called into question.

The second issue I have with DC is his taking credit for innovations in bushcraft that someone else initiated. One item is his machete mod. Sorry but Pict on the YouTube Cohane channel came up with it first and DC would have you to believe it is his invention and there are others.

As far as the Tomahawks blogspot Tomahawk is the original globe trotter. His pictures of where he has been speak for themselves.
