Default Wife is fed up!!!!!!!

Advertise Here

Over the past year I have been hearing strange comments coming from my wife, but what happened this weekend makes me know that my time is near. She is thoroughly fed up!

So it started out as a typical Saturday , me mowing the yard and working in the gardens, all of a sudden she comes out and says we need to go to the store. Not in her normal tone but with a sense of urgency and purpose. So I get cleaned up a bit and off we go, her driving and not saying much. All of a sudden we I realize that the store we are going to is not a place she normally goes too. We arrive at our Gun Store and firing range! I ask what is up, she says we need to buy more ammo, she want to shoot some more and she is going to sign up to get her CC permit. OMG ETHYL this is the big one!!!!!

She has went from a person who tolerated me having guns, to having a couple of her own she liked to shoot and keep for protection in the house to this person who want to be armed at all times in just over 18 months. She says that the way things are happening right now she want to feel safe, especially since her friend and her husband were just robbed at gunpoint(they are fine). She said that hearing that news was the final straw she is ready to do what is necessary to keep safe. Man I LOVE this woman.

While there she also decided she was going to trade in her Berreta 380 and the 9mm High-point. and get herself a hammer-less 38 special that would be easier to get in and out of her purse.

And I half expected this to be a story of how your wife was leaving you.

When you buy her a dozen boxes of ammo make sure to get her a dozen roses to go with them, and shooting glasses and ear muffs and a high top shirt so she doesn't catch that stray brass and good solid shoes or boots for a firm footing. Get her everything she might not think of but will need while she masters the shooting skills.

Still trying to get hubby on-board. The gun thing is no problem. he'll buy guns and ammo all day long. But everytime I buy extra food...I get the eye roll. Bought powered eggs, butter, and milk to try out the brand, he saw the box and ask how much? I made him some banana crumb muffins using the ingredients and he is now better with it. Need to watch another "the world is going to end" movie to remind him what I'm trying to do.

Good for you....glad to here your wife is on-board.

Mine went from Chicago liberal gun hater to owning her own guns and shooting as well, but it took me moving us to Texas to get her to see the light.

Which store do you use in the area?
I haven't pegged one in the KC area I like yet. Cabelas is too rich for my blood.

Iguess I am lucky... never had to do much of anything . She has more handguns than I do and she is always at the range shooting (when she feels well enough).

Here sister is the polar opposite of her.....

I think you're on to something there...

Smart mixture of accessories- the roses are an excellent additional piece of kit by the way.

My wife is taking up trap shooting. I think the case of shells I have for her would be complimented nicely with flowers. That sends two messages.

KCChim- good for you. Buy her good guns she likes to shoot.

I dunno. If my wife suddenly screamed I can't take it anymore and drags me out to load up on guns, I would consider that alarming.

It's only alarming when they start shooting better than you. As long as you have the edge (keep a gun close), you're good to go.

When the pupil shoots better than the coach that means the coach is a good coach. This is a good thing. Who do you want watching your back, the best shot in the house or just somebody with a gun?

She grew up in Texas, but has lived in KC since 89 so I guess her roots are finally showing
